1099 or Corporate Job?

1099 or corporate job?

I have an LLC all set up, and some pretty decent lines in place. Problem is, building it up will take some time - at least 6 months - with some serious competition. I'm not making enough to pay my bills - but I have savings that I can use until I get into the black.

So here's the question: Would you stick it out and stay independent, or take a corporate job where you know you'll make at least $165k, but have to report to a manager and deal with all the corporate BS?

If I stay indy, I have to pay 30% on all my revenue (taxes), plus cover all my own costs, gas, everything. And no 401k, no insurance, etc.

If I go corp - I get all those things, but lose the chance to be independent and report to no one.

What are your thoughts?

STAY 1099!! If you can make it work and survive after 12 months - you say 6 which is even better - Corp gigs are dropping payroll every year. Get a good tax attorney and cut that 30% down it should be around 8% after you pay all your expenses. Which territory are you in? Stay in the fight and survive and you will thank your lucky stars one day.

OP Here.

I have most likely have an opportunity for $250k guaranteed for one year...vs sticking it out. Should I take the $250k? Or stay with it?
