Culture at Amgen for Otezla

100% metrics driven with a goal of making the KPIs look good for Ian, Murdo and Bob.

Everyone knows they need to lie about calls.

NBRX drives all contests so if your business is from accounts you are screwed. No one cares because all that matters is telling Ian, Murdo and Bob the contests are NBRX based. Results and who gets paid is an afterthought.

Crisis every Monday that gets solved by every Friday. None were real but they fuel the week instead of making calls.

3 Webcalls per week. My DM does 1 and I am on 2 national calls.

Strong expectation to join a ERG and regularly share your experiences on calls.

We have had half a dozen marketing directors in 4 years and collectively they have as much dermatology experience as me. It seems to be the Amgen way to view everything as inter-changeable and they just rotate around the same Thousand Oaks mafia. 100% chance we have a new marketing team by November.

You will be told you don't know how to do your job and that you need remediable help.

Just download your call deck and enter the calls exactly as they laid it out. It doesn't really matter because our data is so bad and misses so much SP sales that you can't impact the number.

We do get 2 week shutdowns and most of the TO types don't do a thing the weeks leading up to or following so in reality I get 6 additional weeks off a year.

Technology is a decade behind the times.

Bottom line, just fake the calls and you won't be bothered.

This is the most spot-on assessment I’ve seen about our current culture. It’s a high paying silly job, and the higher ups are just play-acting their jobs to get paid until they don’t have to do it anymore. Big pharma epitomized.
