I read Core Visual Aid, therefore, I sell.

This used to be a very well respected sales job pre 2000. Today, it is embarrassing. Not really sales anymore. Its marketing for the most part. Political nonsense. Backstabbing. Corporate show at it's worse. If anyone here recommends this job to their children or other people, you should be punched in the mouth.

As a grizzled (and thankfully retired) veteran of the shitshow called the pharmaceutical industry, I would say it went from a prestigious job, to a complete ( and embarrassing) joke in the early '90s.

I agree.

Also, I think the entire medical field has turned into a joke. People are not living longer, like they gave us the hope of.

Not only that, but people are the unhealthiest they have ever been in the history of man. Think about that.

Look how they push these "happy" pills on people too. If you have a bad minute in your day, they want to encourage "happy" pills. On and on it goes. And nobody (except me and about 7 other people on this forum :))), understand what is really going on. It is sad to see.

Sales careers are just awful as well, with all the unrealistic expectations, lack of stability, and micromanagement.

Younger people can't see it, because they haven't been downsized and they haven't seen the ugly side of life right now. Eventually, they will see it. I try to help others on here, but they don't listen. All I can say to these naive fools is to save your money, and keep your expenses down, because these companies will target you when you hit 40, that is the age they like to lower their costs and keep their premiums down.

My other advice is to get into insurance sales instead. Not only will you make more money, but you will have more job stability. Otherwise, find a real career like teaching (a tough job for non-leaders though). Pharma/medical device sales is for male simps and cheerleaders and unintelligent people these days.

Excellent analysis and valuable information for youngsters...this industry is a like a cancer...it requires early detection and swift removal, once you wake up to what it really is. (And the harm it does to people's health and well-being.) I was pushed out at 50 after 23 years in, and aside from a couple of bottom-feeder sales jobs, no one would touch me after that...it was over...

Having said that, it turned out to be a blessing...In my 60s now, and comfortably retired...I can honestly say that not leaving Pharma Sales after 2-3 years is my greatest regret in life.

What an idiot

What an idiot

I think most intelligent people know who the real idiot is. You gave no insight with your "idiot" post, idiot. While the other person gave good insight, and original ideas with good substance.

You are in the pharma/medical industry though, so I wouldn't expect you to bring any value to the table.
