What leadership books are we reading here?

So, I'm a BMS director. You know what that means? It means I don't read books because I already know everything there is to know about business. My sociopathic liar friends and relatives who got me into BMS are the same way. Look at our LinkedIn job history, we graduated from University of Phoenix with a 2.8 GPA in Psychology and now help run this multinational corporation.

We are legion, we are insecure inside, we are BMS!

On a serious note - this place is a dump. I’ve never seen this many insanely idiotic people in middle management. This is Rome in the final days before it’s sacked by the barbarians.

The number of people at the AD, and Dir level, who are in charge of capabilities for which they have zero knowledge and experience of is astounding. This makes sense when Sr leadership is just as clueless. Everyone fancies themselves to be strategic thinkers and managers, but how can they strategize, and what do they manage when they got rid off those who actually know how to do the work?

I use the term strategists loosely because those empty heads are anything but.

Says who? It’s about how intelligent and adaptive you are, not your experience doing the exact same thing for a decade.

Sounds like you are referring to the same people, same mindset, that I mentioned. And kissing up, kicking down, backstabbing, and passing the buck is not intelligent or adaptive. Maybe one of the issues is many at BMS see those traits as intelligent, but they are destroying the company from within.

Agreed with you. The culture really rewards lying, backstabbing to the point where this is where people are spending much of their time instead of working productively.

Few leaders have an enterprise mindset, and those who do are bullied out of the room because they come across as threatening to the pea brained self aggrandizing management.

These yucky people are unhirable outside of BMS because everyone would see right through their bullshit and call them out. Hilarious to see them thrive here.
