Terumo

I've been in medical sales for a handful of years, but I'd like to spend more time in the hospital operating space and it seems like a good move.

Does anybody have any feedback about Terumo (products, compensation, reputation, cultrure, industry)?

Products are solid across the board. Every doctor uses and loves Glidewires, Pinnacles, Glidecaths, radial products....

Company reputation is good among physicians and techs in the lab. Your biggest hurdle will be dealing with materials and explaining to them why they need to pay two, three, four and five times more for your product versus the competition.

Not positive about compensation, but I know it's more than the Cook rep. Should be around $170-$220 depending on your % to quota.

Do you know exactly which division of Terumo you are interviewing for?

There poster above is talking about the interventional division, but there are a few other divisions at Terumo that work primarily in the hospitals.

Good company, great products, company growth has been 20% year over year for the past five years. A lot of competetion in the CCL, OR and IR, but folks know Terumo products.

Check amount of travel for the territory and who the big players are.

Any insight into CVS side of Terumo? I'm familiar with the interventional side...great products and well respected, etc. However, I'm not familiar with cvs side...

Thanks in advance....

Bump.....

Any insight on Terumo CVS?

Currently selling devices and this position sounds good. Most of my knowledge is on the interventional side of Terumo though....

Not positive on the CVS side either, but for what it's worth I do see a lot of their products in the hospital.

CVS did have some FDA issues in the past, but Terumo is a well run company and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that things are on the right track. Just find out why the last rep left and speak to a few account in the territory.

Could anyone please provide any additional insight into the interventional systems side of this business? Is this GPO driven? Where do you spend most of your time? Cath Lab? OR?

Thanks

It's mainly cath lab and IR, some time is spent in the OR if that's where Vascular Surgeons are doing their endovascular procedures.

How do the products stack up to the competition? Is this a product that is contract driven or is this something a surgeon or Interventional Rad get if they scream loud enough?

Thanks

Where are you located? Depends on your area but overall, this is a clinical sale. Be careful though, quotas are typically 10%+ growth every year, very aggressive.

Products stack well against competition. Everybody from the doctors to the lab staff know Terumo products and like Terumo products. Like with all hospital sales, it is very contract driven, but Terumo has been around forever, so if anything the contract/relationship issue works in your favor.

Terumo products won't be the cheapest option for the lab, so often times it is used becuase of physician or staff preference.

Anyone know how this program works. Any idea what the reimbursement is like in a major city? I understand it depends on where you live but a ballpark dollar range would be great.

Thanks!
