Synthes/Eli Lilly

Very interesting to see that the VP of Sales for Spine was promoted to Senior VP of the Eli Lilly project. What does he bring to the table in terms of skills or business acumen for this?
Anyone?

I can believe that (it was a demotion). One has to think that Murray has been looking for a way to move him out of the VP position for a while since the numbers are consistently negative. If you don't produce......you go.

Camp Kurt is a well known incompetent extraordinare and was never going to factor in the new leadership team of the new combined company. With moves like this it's always more about the move to follow. Murray is a nice guy but a newbie to Spine. His move from CMF was poorly timed considering the acquisition. Also, in fairness it's not like he's moved the cheese an inch in his short time at the helm. Never the less they would like to retain him but there's a snowballs chance in hell that he becomes prez of the new combined co. Moving Camp Kurt hints to one possibility of where he might end up. The Eli Lilly position is merely a face saving role until Kurt finds a new job - give him to the end of the year. And he's such an arrogant load of turd it's not going to be easy to find any takers.

Paying $10 million upfront and then putting such a dufus in charge strikes me that J&J signed off on the deal (given it took yrs to approve & Wyss clearly was against anything having to do with Osteoporosis) but didn't understand Synthes' true mgmt capability, which isn't much.
