How long before Novartis gets rid of Alcon

Had Novartis handled the Alcon investment as Nestle did, it may have been fruitful. Now, it is a dead duck (only people left at Alcon are the robots).
At some point - Novartis will need to take a hefty write off on Alcon - under investor pressure. It will probably either be a management buy out (in which case it will still not be worth working there if the Syrians are around) or it may be outright sale to a corporate raider (which will lead to massive job losses and restructuring).
Either way, the once fine organization and people are history.

it can be another HBR, how you can mess up with a high performing company & People!

also a quick reference guide for Any corporate or investors related to Acquisitions - How an M&A can be a failure just because if a corporate is run by Lawyers and finance guys!

and how leadership hide their incompetency and inefficiency under compliance, legal and profit protections! when they have no clue on business, strategies or long term vision

a classical example of lack of business understanding and incompetency of NVS compared to Nestle, Abbot having the last laugh!

if the investors got any brain they will either fire the ECN for wasting their 55 Bio by mismanaging Alcon,

or

sell off Alcon to some one with business sense and recover at least half of money invested and save further losses of investors!

No amount of 'catch phrases', 'bumper stickers', 'reboots', 'revamps', 'restructuring' or 're-anything' can save Alcon now. This company is past the point of no-return. It is time Novartis prevented further losses to investors by selling it.

Novartis is reinvesting in other profitable divisions. Look it up if you have to.
Alcon is not bringing in cash and is bleeding it. Look at the P&L and do the math...but not for today...for the future. Once you see that you will understand. Good luck and remember that luck favors the prepared mind.

Completely agree with you...all the catch phrases and workshops are basically to while away time till the year end. As the NVS idiots have no fu***ng clue on what needs to be done.... and their ego won't let them bring back Alcon champions in the forefront who can still make it right.

the remaining true Alcon blood will actually celebrate if NVS spins off surgical, it will be an end to the constant torcher

This is what happens when an expert on ketchup and an expert on apparel are given world's largest ophthalmic company to run. The smug basterds can fly their helicopters in Switzerland all day long - this doesn't change the fact that they are clueless egotistic irresponsible schmacks, that have ruined world's best hope to cure blind.

Alcon no longer exists... Only Novartis Ophthalmology/Optometric Division remains and Novartis deserves what they have. They should put more money into the Google Smart Lens, they need it badly to fix their management myopia. Maybe this is why they bought Alcon in the first place, hoping it can cure them of their myopia. I wouldn't hold my breath... it's not going to happen!

Well ketchup works wonders to cover the awful taste of badly prepared food, and apparel is what you need to cosmetically turn a schmuck into a looker... see there's some strategy there he he... bad one though

They have to sell it otherwise it going to take all of NVS down with it. Wait till the 4Q earnings report from Alcon, that should get them seriously thinking about getting rid of the bleeding mess they have created

...the key word here is 'created'. None of this need have happened had they just left Alcon alone.

All Alcon pharma reps will eventually be replaced by Novartis pharma reps, it's just a matter of time. This was the plan from the beginning. There is no sense in having both companies overlap.
