This product will be a blockbuster. Unfortunately, the arrogant leaders established impossible goals with every intention of not having to pay anyone huge bonuses early in the launch. It's easy to knowingly make them unobtainable and then blame the sales team for "not producing" fast enough. How convenient. So let's refocus our sales team by producing inflated call averages and other meaningless metrics to drive business. Bang up job, leadership.

Differently... actually devise a realistic launch plan that emphasizes a better understanding of the disease state and science, recognize physician apathy, managed care challenges and product competition. We entered the market with a great product, while challenging a market standard that has been taught for over two decades to be a treatment life changer for patients and providers. To expect that we would capture as much volume (while launching in the middle of summer) so quickly is unrealistic. Physicians look at us like we're arrogant b/c we are asking them to change their prescribing habits overnight, and leadership is incredulously scrutinizing the sales force b/c we're unable to achieve this unrealistic expectation. The division has done a lot right as well. However, more humility by our leaders, and perhaps an adjustment to the volume goals would instill a bit more confidence in the salesforce, all while keeping us motivated, dedicated and focused on achieving growth objectives. It amazes many of us how time and time again, "leaders" too often miss the mark... Many of us are extremely motivated to deliver, but how unbelievably distracting it is to already be overshadowed by the "sky is falling" mentality.

So, what's the 5:00 pm "field force update" with Richard R. about today?

Throwing more bodies at HCPs that don't want to see us in the wishful thinking that we will teach physicians how to use our expensive "Untrusto" in all there patients.

What % of the whopping 16 million in untrusto sales originated from paid speakers? o_O

That feeling of the sky is falling is starting to put pressure on reps to act like dumba$$es and get offices that were open to reps shut down or access restricted. This is happening in central North Carolina. Calm down people before we have no offices open to us.

In another year, the conversation will be completely different. Sales will soar.

Agreed. Managing expectations is the name of the game. If leadership is trolling these boards, pay particular attention to the tone that you've set and stop the bleeding. When inexperienced people are panicked, shitty decisions are made and ultimately compromises how we conduct our jobs.

Lets be real here. This is another Diovan combo. Didn't Diovan decrease hospitalizations and and actually remodel the heart in Val-Heft? Why didn't the clinical trials compare to higher dose Diovan alone? I'm glad we named the product Entresto because that sure makes everyone more confident about this product, LOL!.

Well they'll claim they compared it against the 'gold standard' (35 year old ace ROTL)
which is ironic since after val-heft they fancied themselves as the 'new' gold standard
remember the unsolicited fax blasts :D
