I have been offered a job as a consultant in Amgen. I have been reading these forums and I am a bit worried. There seem to have been quite a few layoffs. How is the company. I think there were a few layoffs this year too? My last job was a company that had layoff after layoff every year while slowly offshoring. I just don't want to go through that whole experience again. How is it at Amgen-in terms of consultants job security. I do have an offer I am negotiating in downtown L.A. Full time, but horrible commute. Amgen is just 15 min from me and reverse commute . So it looks attractive, but just worried about the repeated layoffs over and over again? Just worried it will be a repeat of the same old. if you are a consultant, do they hire full time? Just trying to get a feel for how it is working there(I posted in the sales forum by mistake!)
