Considering a job under Suzanna in Florida.
What’s the scoop on her, please? Or the Regional for that area.

If you're talking Susanna barkhausen in S FL, she's a complete micromanaging ahole. Completely clueless and has the highest opinion of herself. She's a monumental underachiever. Run away from that dead job. She'll make it a living hell. She's ugly & dumb

I don’t know her, but I can assure you this is the exact manager type Novartis loves. Managers are trained and basically required to do 2-3 day ride alongs with every rep every month. Reps are required to “see” six TARGETED calls per day. Novartis picks the targets, about 75, and a significant number of them will be dead, retired, not in your territory, working only in hospitals or VA, in your territory infrequently for outreach, or completely no see. You will be subject to a very aggressive goals on every provider in your geography, but if you put in too many non targeted calls and your non targeted call percentage is too high, you will be hearing about that too. Managers are encouraged to “coach” and “upskill” you so much they are actually convinced they are doing that with their never ending criticism.
If you have some fire in your belly and love to sell, you’ll hate it here. If you’re cool with entering the perfect metrics and coasting along, you’ll love it. If there was ever an example of micromanagement ruining a culture, it’s Novartis 2024.

Novartis is by far the worst Pharma company. The crazy amount of field rides, no bonus and meetings that treat us like a herd of cattle. I stay because I have a good manager. He comes for a lunch and goes home. He treats like adults but he is a unicorn at Novartis.

You are lucky! Mine is just itching to get into offices and practically opens the door to run out of the car before I even turn the engine off

I have never worked for her but most of her reps enjoy working for her.
She has been an ABL for a while now and won multiple awards throughout the years. Sometimes she can talk too much just to hear herself speak.

Florida RD is nice but not much substance behind her. She has a reputation at being too amiable and she doesn't really understand the business in Florida. Region has been underperforming under her leadership the last 4 years. Rumor has it that with her new boss being hired, she will probably be pushed out or moved to another role.

He’s definitely a unicorn at Novartis. Mine likes to hammer out 2-3 full days, dominating the conversation everywhere we go, then telling me what I should be doing better.

We no longer have ABL’s. The L stands for Leaders. These are no longer Leaders. They are simply soldiers doing as told regardless of what is right or wrong. They appease an arrogant group above them. Those who obviously have little faith in our talents as they micromanage us into oblivion.

I agree with this. I like Susana but I’ve never worked for her. Her teams generally do not have a lot of turnover.

FL RD is weak. She is very sweet but she has not had a positive impact on the region. In the last almost 4 years she’s made a few good abl promotions/hires and a few terrible ones. She still does not understand FL business and refuses to listen to easy fixes or even consider new strategy. She has her favorites and that’s played apart in the dismal performance.

Definitely agree. My guess is FL RD will be gone or reassigned before the end of 2024.
