Anyone here info or 'hear say' on how the Codman reps will work with us...1. Will they fully integrate all of them with us? 2. Cut all/most of them? 3. Keep some of them while cutting some of us? 4. Etc... I love the acquisition but am nervous for how all of this shakes out. Also, I hope they integrate some of their culture with ours rather than us just saying "its our way only".

Well the deal doesn't close till Q4 so they have time to analyze and map this out. I

we realize that, i think the OP was just trying to get everyones opinion based on our previous acquisitions and how we handled those. obviously, this is on a much larger scale than the others.

HR will do a talent assessment with us and them for every territory that has two reps. Strongest rep will stay and the weakest will get a pink slip. Darwinism to the fullest extent, as only the strongest will survive ... good news is it will be the same for management and marketing so hopefully we will come out stronger on the back end. Good luck to all.

Average tenure for a Codman rep is 11-12 years. Many reps planned on being with Codman until they retire. They love the product and the company and culture has been very good to them.

What is the avg tenure of an Integra rep? What is the turnover in territories? I hope that Integra didn't buy Codman just to get a product. Integra would be wise to do everything possible to keep the Codman reps because they have great relationships with the doctors. Integra also needs to import the COdman culture (learn what works and apply it to Integra) and maybe that would help stop the revolving door of sales reps.

Keep dreaming. They didn't pay 1 billion to learn how Codman runs their business.

I don't blame you for campaigning for your job. I would be at this point too. I'll admit that the Integra culture is not the best but at least Integra holds reps accountable for growing. There's a reason Codman reps stay so long. It's because the job is easy and the company doesn't put much pressure on you to grow. It's the perfect place to hide for a mediocre caliber rep that doesn't care to work that hard. That's the reputation of codmans sales team and I've seen it personally in my own market. A lot of you are going to be in for a shock. That is if the sales teams are merged....

As a Codman rep, I personally take offense to that. I would be more than happy to go head to head with you and bury your ass. Maybe your Codman rep doesn't work hard but to say thats the reputation for all Codman reps is just stupid and far from the truth. Unlike you, I am not going to make an ignorant, blanket statement about Integra reps. I would agree J&J breeds conplacency but that doesn't mean everyone is lazy. Just like there are good & bad Codman reps, I can assure you that Integra has good & bad reps as well. I have worked under far more pressure than anything Integra or Codman can throw at me, which is why I am successful here...and will continue to be no matter where I end up. Keep that closed minded, lack of humility attitude and you'll be the one who will 'be in for a shock'.

You have been given misinformation if you have been told Codman isn't growing. The neurosurgery team had over 10% growth last year and Codman overall has been very flat because the Neurovasculer business has been hemorrhaging. Integra did not purchase Neurovascular. CNS has done well Year over year despite lack of new products, recalls and supply issues. A sales team that consistently performs during adversity is the type of team you want. If you ask neurosurgeons, predominately Codman reps are more skilled, knowledgeable and professional than Integra reps. 12 years of average tenure speaks to the ability to build relationships and succeed over time. There is a reason Codman reps stay
And Integra turns over A LOT!!!! And it's not because JnJ gives you a pass in performance. Trust me, no medical device job is easy in a complex and highly competitive market. Yes, there are good and bad in every force, but overall Codman reps are highly competent and effective. Ask your surgeons, they'll tell you. Integra leadership understands the caliber of employees at Codman and realizes this is talent they could not have attracted except through acquisition. Underestimate them and you maybe sorry....

Here it May 2 2017 and the Codman workers are still in the dark,Integra Life Science wants the Codman name, the product, and the workers! Now the Codman ship is sinking and the great help are running to the life boats. What a great loss for Integra. What a lack of communication on Integra part!!

Codman rep here....This isn't Integra's fault, it's the upper mgmt at Codman running everyone off. They don't give two s***s about the reps, this is evident by 1.) the horrendous comp plan they rolled out Jan. 1 and 2.) the fact they do not listen to ANYTHING the salesforce has to say. They are only concerned about covering their own azz before the acquisition is complete. Also, JNJ can't cut Codman from the books fast enough, they want nothing to do with us. Honestly, I am excited to become apart of Integra, assuming they keep me. All companies have their faults but I promise you Integra is a better place than Codman right now.
