Is ConvaTec making any noise out there with the new Engenex product? With 32 reps I never see my rep. Thats good news. Just curious if anyone has seen them step it up lately, or were the ConvaTec Surgical Specialist are hanging out with there new toy?

... their new toy. To bad all that sales training doesn't teach you English.

I spoke with the rep 2 weeks ago and they are getting ready to have a new version of foam that is going to be rolled out in early 2011. Sounds like it's going to go head to head with us. Probably going to be cheaper too.

Not sure, are the KCI pumps still bleeding people out until they die. I looked in the FDA reports (public information) to see whose pumps have problems. All I could find was 70+ deaths due to the VAC. Has that been fixed?

A bleed out wouldn't be caused by a foam system; it could just as easily be cause by your product as well. That's obviously a general NPWT issue, in which, of course there are more VAC cases of bleeding out; we hold a 90%+ market share. Second, your data is wrong in that the FDA actually made it public in a report that there were only 12 deaths related to NPWT.

who is "We", do you have a piece of shit in your pocket. And who is "your product"? I don't own either of these companies. Foam is old technology-Gauze in the 70's and 80's, foam in the 90's, the next few year will bring all sorts of new stuff to the market

Probably one of the worst counter arguments I have ever read! Ha ha ha. First thing, love the ad hominem. Second, wasn't the original argument around "bleed outs?" Not sure where "old technology" came from. I'm assuming you're talking about healing rates now instead of offering any rebuttal to the original argument. That's awesome that the next few years will bring new technology to the market. What do you think the medium for cellular proliferation will be? And do you have any rebuttal to the original argument?

Do we really have to talk serious about convatec. please. they had their major drive about a year ago and got no where. This product is DOA!

I agree with this post. Convatec, so what. Their up against a company, (KCI)

that should be on life support. We are the walking dead. The few at the top will walk away

with Multi-Millions in their pockets. Good for them. I wish I were one of them. Just from the

money standpoint. Bottom line is that KCI's glory days ended about 10 years ago. Sorry

most of you weren't around to get the warm feeling of being on a winning team. Instead of

what we have now. NewBees will call me an Ass. Do you think I care? Remember the old KCI

mantra, " Just keep taking the money, MOFO".

    Buck.

I think u missed the point. I've been with this company for close to 10 years and must say we are evolving. I get it this is not the same mom and pop type of company it used to be. However, I truly feel KCI is building a stronger company for the next 10 years. Newer products, and a realigned sales force with better business objectives will start to spur some growth in the next 1-2 years.
However I agree, this is not the fun, relaxing enviroment it used to be. Now put on big boy pants and just be happy u have a job that most people would be itching to have and thats the truth. a majority of my friends make less than the 140-160 range that I have been fortunate to make over the years.

In regards to my comments about convatec. Like I said they are DOA. However their are a couple companies out there that are managed well that could put a damper on things, in particular Medela, and to a lesser degree s & n.

The comments above are from a crack head whose only job for 10 years has been with KCI . KCI will not move into the next decade. With our current leadership it's been over for a few years plain and simple.

I didn't say I'm happy with things, just making best of a not so great enviroment. This is the current enviroment of med. devices in general right now. Check the boards out, talk to people in the bus, and go on a few interviews and tell me otherwise. Yeah we get it, this is not the same company. yaddayaddayadda, you just figured that out. Like I said I like making 140-160 year over year.(its a living)

What I am saying is you are visionless fool who will be bagging my groceries in 5 years not 10. fuck off asshole.
