sounds like you are an awesome rep. i highly encourage you to get out now because you are way underpaid. a top rep at DSI makes $90k while you can make a lot more $ anywhere else. yes, don't believe all the big talk of "unlimited income" its a scam

Wow!! Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back there! Don't count on those mai tai's...the way things are going around here with cuts to IC and all, I wouldn't be surprised if gold cup was cancelled to save $$.

This, my fellow workers, is the perfect example of why reps get shut out of offices.

True, but it doesn't take a financial expert to understand that DSI has a very limited pipeline and ever shrinking revenue. It just can't support its current sales force and expenditures. It will re-size, it will scale itself to survive. It will do it very soon as it has year after year. That is a fact.

By the way, if you are a good rep, and there are only statistically 50% of those, you are underpaid by DSI. This is especially the case in high cost of living areas. If you are a good rep, go where you can be paid and treated a little better. Coming from the current DSI this is not difficult. If you can truly "sell", get out of pharma and make real money for your efforts in tech, start ups, or go in to business for yourself. Pharma will comfort you and limit you.

To the jerk "new rep"... I've been at this job a long time and I've won many awards... In the past year mind you... Don't appreciate your attitude and there are a bunch of "new"'reps that get us locked out. You don't know when to shut up- docs don't like you reciting crap and not being able to discuss the riveting info you just blasted off... Karma sucks and has your name on it... I guess you plan to NOT be s tenured rep?

Who ever posted this might be the biggest idiot at DSI. Layoffs are done by an outside consulting agency and they could careless if you are the greatest sales person who ever lived.

news flash! You might want to wake up at the POAs and lay off the weed. Didn't you hear that was a big thing the Amgen boys changed! Lay offs decisions are done internally now. They are absolutely not done by outside consultants any longer! Wake UP!

Then DSI would be concerned ... Outside consulting is how you avoid lawsuits ... I don't believe what you are saying

If you weren't worried about being OBSOLETE my comments wouldn't have bothered you. Yes, I'm a new rep. But just like new doctors who come loaded with all the new and best medical information and far outshine the old docs in their ability to better treat patients, the new reps like me come loaded with all the new and best messaging from training, which gives us the ability to far outshine the tired old reps in the field. You might want to push your inflated ego aside and learn something from the newbies, as we'll soon be the ones promoted and, if you survive the layoff, will be your DMs and RDs. You've been warned!

If you are an educated and confident sales professional (obviously, you are not), then you should NEVER worry about losing your job.

Grow up. Stop living in fear, dummy.

OH, my bad, you are working for what company? OK, your post makes sense.

Good one. Laughable. Entertaining. But good effort on your part demonstrating you're a dipshit. That point has come across real real clear!

I was hired in December to backfill a recently vacated position (the person had been promoted) - then was promptly laid of in the first round of layoffs... so yeah- they would be hiring NOW even if they were laying off before year end.
