What became of Gennett? retired, consulting?

The good ole days with Synthes and the all the debauchery that went along with it. Really disgusting culture in the 80's and 90's and to the early 2000's
 



The only winner here is Hansjorg who rode off into the sunset after pulling the wool over JnJ eyes and have them spend billions to buy Synthes. How many times at meetings that Hansjorg would say he was going to over stock to employees. Year after year he would come back and say the same thing that it was on Swiss stock exchange and he was working hard to get stock options. Horrible culture .

Laughable. Establishing an employee stock option plan is easy. We were also told we couldn’t buy shares. Sure we could, I did.

On your own? I'm talking about years working , making quota all needed txo be rewarded with stock options . Plus it was a royal pain purchasing shares on swiss stock exchange. Involved tax liabilities etc. Hansjorg on rewarded a few.

All HJW would have needed to do was tell Donohue to set up an employee stock purchase plan and Donohue would have gotten it done. HJW had no interest in making it happen.

I'll never forget Hanjorg at Sawgrass which was a Marriott property when he got pissed one morning the breakfast staff wouldn't get him a banana to slice up for his cereal. He was furious and cancelled all AO programs being held at Marriott properties. He then sent an email that any employee wouldn't get hotel rooms reimbursed if they submitted on their expense reports. He was such a putz.

There was also a story (not saying it wasn’t true) that after a Synthes paid for buffet dinner at one of the resorts/hotels, HJW wanted the leftovers taken to a local homeless shelter and was told no. That place was also removed from the Synthes vendor list.

Yes I remember that also. I also remember Hansjorg coming into our training class and having a tantrum on why the ortho trays were on the desks as he said they could cause micro scratches on the tables. Were talking about regular formica desks in rows in the conference center. Or how about his million dollar paintings in his office. What an egotistical asshole. He loved to chase pussy also.

I'm trying to see the down side to this.
Multi-millionaire (at the time), pays for everything (ok, write-offs), art (he makes enough to itemize and invest), ego (check mark), chasing pussy (check mark, movement is life). I mean, Jeffery Epstein was an egotistical asshole (Dead and gone!!), Trumpy is an egotistical asshole (but I'm voting for him, again!) Hansjorg is a Swiss Billionaire (Not dead!!). Don’t forget the even greater feat of pulling the wool over the eyes of the Feds and avoiding prosecution, when he pawned 100% of the responsibility for patient deaths related to the unapproved (by the FDA) “test market” study of Norian in the spine. There wasn’t a single product decision that he wasn’t aware of - or even command, especially when it came to one of his investments like the Norian Corp. The Marriott banana thing was real and speaks to the tyrannically toxic culture. Mina Kimes, who is now on ESPN, was a writer with a national magazine several years ago (I forget which one and am too lazy to pull up a fresh page and search the interwebs at the moment) and wrote a great article about all that stuff that we lived through in real time. Sadly, those who knew no other company cultures were too inexperienced to realize just how much of a shit show that place could be at times. There was so much self-congratulatory smoke-up-the-ass being blown about great Wyss and the company were. Turned out to be more like the little man behind the curtain than the Great and Powerful Oz.
 



Hansjorg clearly paid off the executives to take the fall. Money was deposited into an assortment of swiss banks under some non-disclosure trusts. Hanjorg was a thief. He should be sentenced to the nearest Marriott property and confined to a room with Marriott food for the the next 20 years and never allowed to leave the property.

I’ve (and many people) always thought the execs had a big bag of money buried in their backyard, courtesy of Wyss. However, I do recall Bohner’s lawyer (reportedly) asked repeatedly why Wyss wasn’t being charged. Perhaps that was all for show.
 









This is a self promoting ad. The ego this degenerate has is unbelievable. Gennett was just along for the ride. HANSJORG donated the single largest amount of money to Harvard in its history only to insure Gennett got a courtesy MBA with very little work. Maybe the article should include his HR record, or his SIMS units chicanery. Reading this article did nothing but want people to puke. Gennett wrote it or paid for it to be wrote. How could anyone forget Gennett playing a big shooter in an high end restaurant to have the check come and watch his credit card get denied . What a tool.
