Vacation memo from Fleming

Anyone see the vacation memo from Fleming. Talk about a kick in the face for those who are losing their jobs and have families. Another example of small company mentality and not caring about people.

Dear Shire Family:

History does repeat itself. And once again, I have artificially propped up the stock price of a company, increased my salary, and travelled the world at your expense.

I look forward to a smooth transition as (insert company) takes Shire to the next level of prosperity and, most importantly, the health of our patients.

As the sun begins to set over the Canary Islands, I wish you well and thank you for a job well done.

Warmest wishes and caviar dreams,

Fleming

PS: I did carry the bag in case you forgot.

Asshole! That's Perry's justification too to yell at the SF... He carried the bag too.

That is so hilarious. Spot on, spot on.

I proudly penned the memo and will have more to follow.

It's the same for every CEO in America.

Like DC, they live in a bubble. Removed from reality. Surrounded by "yes" groupies and zero leadership.

Thank you Shire for slicing me from the OBU. It has opened my eyes to a whole new world of opportunities in the medical world.

Some folks like swimming in the shallow end of the pool, but I prefer the ocean.

Dear Shire Family:

As we approach the weekend, I would ask that you take some time and reflect on the past several months and our successes across the company.

With that in mind, I will highlight the launch of Xiidra into the dry eye market.

Jennifer Anniston and the"All you need is eyelove" kicked off our launch in the US.

This campaign wasted millions of dollars to expand the DED market, increasing Restasis growth, and enhancing the self-importance of our marketing team.

As our launch continued, we doubled-down on the number of calls to ECP's, I-Pad media details, and dusted off the antiquated, but still effective, 1990's pharmaceutical selling model.

In fact, this strategy led to a flattening of Xiidra market share, the nimble demotion of our VP of Sales, and a complete loss of confidence in our ability to execute.

With all of this success, we knew as an organization we could tap into the strength of our NBU franchise and leverage more assets in to the DED space.

Operation 2020 was announced and once again, our sales force embraced the unknown and cohesively and flawlessly executed this plan.

More calls to ECP's to discuss our one and only product Xiidra, from our neuroscience sales force. There one week of training on Xiidra mesmerized the DED landscape and lead to minimal growth, chaos and confusion in ECP offices, and a downturn in morale that Shire has never experience until I took over as CEO.

Success breeds success. My friends and colleagues, continue the good fight for our patients, for whom we rise every morning, committed to there well-being.

From somewhere over the South Pacific,

Fleming

Hey Pflem,

Learn the difference between 'there' and 'their'.

Hugs and kisses,

PS

This is awesome! Very well said and exactly how most of my doctors feel! Hey, maybe if we spend less on DTC......we could drop the price of X and Medicare patients could actually afford it? Just a thought......

Dear Shire Family:

It has come to my attention that in my last memo I made a grammatical error.

My apologies and I will be reading Strunk & White's Elements of Style on the private jet ride back from the islands.

Additionally, my apologies to JA.

With love,

FO

Stock price is down today so I guess Pflem's negotiation skills have become a bit rusty since his attempt to sell Shire to Abbvie after only 3 months on the job. Hopefully his vacation will re-energize him and he can get the sale price up to $200 a share or so.

I hope he takes lots of photos of his Canary Islands activities to post on his blog when he gets back. I've never been there but now I'm intrigued and would like to go after I get laid offf and as soon as I get another job.

Boy, this thread is better and funnier than watching the Saturday Night Live skits about Trump!

Photos are ok, but it would be nice to see some videos of him running on the beach and of the surfing lessons.
Does Phlegm have an instagram account so we can see live updates of the vacay?
What's his twitter handle?
