UBS cuts price target on staff satisfaction reviews

Just in:

In response to the recent UBS article and to rally employees everywhere, genius FO is doing a full Grand Tour of Shire offices everywhere (sorry, no time for field rides). With Canary island inspiration, he has come up with a snappy brand for the special tour: GTFO

Get your GTFO t-shirts, mouse pads and sticky notes and use them with pride.

This Glassdoor review says Flemming has been overheard making disparaging remarks about employees on the train on more than one occasion. Can anyone confirm it to be true?

"No strategic vision. CEO short-termist only interested in personal gain."

Pros
Decent pay and good colleagues overall.

Cons
Everything is short-term focussed. Cutting key clinical studies to prop up balance sheet. Spinning off neuroscience business is cynical ploy to be able to sell the more attractive rare disease business. Very low on ethical grounds. Company values are meaningless and employees are treated as dispensable assets. CEO has been overheard speaking disparagingly about employees on train on more than one occasion.

Advice to Management
More advice to the board: do your job and talk to employees instead of coming by once a year for choreographed walk around the offices. Employees are coached to ask questions and say things. Completely staged... The board is asleep at the wheel. The Viropharma, NPS and Dyax acquisitions were a joke. Massively overpayed for these companies with mediocre due diligence. No hope of ever making the projected revenues. …

Someone needs to get Flemming's disparaging remarks on tape next time. Wonder what he said.

Here's another great GD review:
  1. "Identity Crisis"

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Really smart people working hard on valuable products, great pipeline and teams

    Cons

executive leadership is tone deaf, CEO blogs offer advice on taking breaks, summer vacations etc but then refers to the Canary Islands and boring books that are NOT summer reads (please, who would actually read those in real life?)

Employee engagement survey pointed out flaws at the top but message to company (er, enterprise - apparently we have all joined Star Trek) was we all need to fix it, not them - management doesn't hear employees.

    Advice to Management

ENOUGH with the plan to move to Cambridge, 50%+ staff departures expected if move is forced, we love working in the burbs to avoid the city traffic for a reason!! Not driving in that hellish traffic and fighting for parking everyday to be at Shire.
