This Week Will Forever Be Known As Black January

This week all the AGI recommendations will be revealed/implemented from senior management and it is not good if you work in the field. A gutting of revenue producing individuals has already begun. Compliance and HR has been activated to start the purge beginning with all the firings last week. This is the infancy of what will be a messy blood bath. In addition to the terminations, 29 others are on probation for extremely petty, ever changing, questionable policy violations. Expect more to follow in order to cull the herd. Brace yourselves as this will be an extremely tough week for many with more to follow! This is just the beginning with no end in site. The company is a ghost ship without a captain and legal and compliance are now driving. If you have options, it would be wise to seriously explore them before you are forced to as every single one of the field personnel are being investigated.

Maybe I'm the naïve one, but I think there are still those of us simply trying to make STORZ a great place to work. Fighting the good fight to make life better is always worth it!

Thank you for your opinion from the corp office . In the field we want a better place to sell. What is going on is limiting sales and making storz a terrible place to work. Lawyers in charge of a sales organization is a death sentence .

Oh the drama...you want more time to sell....sounds like we are getting that.
Looks like we are finally synchronization across the US. No doubt it's been in the works for a long time. Now maybe we can be a big boy on the block.

no issue with the commercial changes. I don’t like that Stefan and his people are all over this US leadership with legal eyes on us

So first off… I worked for Storz years back. They didn’t have the NSM in Pam SPRINGS!?! No WAY they’re THAT cheap. Or was this a simple regional sales meeting?

2nd… everybody (EVERYBODY) on this Storz board hates this company so much and there are always these monthly layoffs with crap like, “The Tides Are Turning” or some ill thought-out OVERLY dramatic headlines. People when I worked there were smart (at least the ones that were able to see KSEA as a “launching point” and left to go bigger than that. I suppose my question is… is it really that bad for SOO many years (as this message board indicates), or are you TRAPPED in forced labor?? Is there EVER any valid info here anymore?

6 months I interviewed for a corporate accounts role. When I had my “peer interview” it was like talking to a robotic sales monkey from the 90s

These private surgical companies are behind the times. So glad it didn’t work out here.

for those looking, large, public companies are driving lot of change, so be ready to keep learning and be challenged, but they are getting on offense and not of this toxicity is happening. They’ve put it all behind them.

Use to work here when it was an amazing organization. I use to say that Storz is the next Richard Wolf. In 5-10 years this place will be lucky to still be standing.

The problem is not just in Storz though. The industry is invested with bad sales representative and leadership in particular. Radical decisions are being made by “smart” people when staying the course is sometimes the answer.

I’m not exactly sure how Storz is even still around… I work in O.R.’s across the country and see minimal Storz equipment. Some have a decent amount, some have a few instruments, but what I’ve seen is that Storz devices aren’t “conversation” anymore (or ever have been). Being a former KSEA rep, I always ask questions about their thoughts… just about ALL surgeons shrug, “meh”. I don’t keep up with Storz anymore, but I get the feeling like there hasn’t been anything ‘Earth Shattering’ or groundbreaking from KSEA in a VERY long time… Storz is spoken about nowadays like a commodity with “me too” products.

Honest question here… is there anything (ANYTHING) that separates you now or any 1st to market products at this point? Olympus has the 4k processors now, Fuji has the Hybrid scopes… I haven’t heard a PEEP from any newly-built hospitals about Storz. I feel like KSEA is borderline irrelevant at this point in time. Jesus, will Sybil ever just go public and get in the game?

Also. Did I read in another post that BW got the pink slip?

Storz, Stryker, Olympus…It really doesn’t matter what any of us come out with. MIS is Intutive’s world, everyone else gets the scraps. The robot wars are coming; MDT and J&J are both about to enter the space (finally). Still, ISI is so far ahead of everyone else that it‘s going to be tough to make a dent in their business. Would be cool if the Asensus deal injects some innovation into the Storz portfolio, but I’m not holding my breath.
