Stuart Pharmaceuticals thread is still here to be found. Simply put the name in the "search" column at the left top of the page, and you will be directed to "lost civilizations" (really), and there it is. Easier yet, just put it in your favorite once found.

You'll also find a host of great companies that once existed, such as Ciba-Geigy, Syntex, and so many more that were real companies, not the crap that now call the shots...those like AZ that are now only interested in nothing beyond their stock price and their Swiss accounts.

It's almost impossible to explain to most readers on Cafepharma what was then as opposed to what pharma is today.....why even try?

You mean when reps were actually respected? Drs. owned their practices and there was one rep for every company that called on them. They would exchange jokes with you, knew the names of your kids and you knew theirs. Many Drs. became good friends, golf buddies, tennis or jogging buddies on weekends. The PSSs today wouldn't believe how much fun and how valued we were in those days. They will laugh and make fun of the old timers but we looked forward to going to work every day and they are depressed, demoralized, and most are looking to get out.

if you go to the home page for Café Pharma Message Boards, you will see a link to Lost Civs. very near the top. Its been there forever.
What I find interesting is just how quickly that list has grown.
And yes it is sad, there were once some great companies, many with fine cultures, that have disappeared.

Don't kid yourself that those companies cared about anything beyond their stock price and Swiss bank accounts either. Big difference though was that those companies respected the field, knew we drove business and took care of us in kind to make it happen. Now the industry has made us all formulaic, walking 60 second commercials and reduced us to mere caterers.
