Stop the costume requirement at the meeting!

I felt forced to be a team player to purchase a costume that I felt embarrassed to wear. Whoever came up with this very stupid idea can choose to wear a costume individually, but it should not be a requirement at a meeting. I felt embarrassed and humiliated walking through the casino to get to the event. My manager told me I had no choice. For those that want to bash me, you are free to wear a costume but no one should make you feel like you aren't a team player because it is something you are not comfortable with. Nor should you have to purchase something with your own money where your company expects you to do this. Just wrong.
 












Agree!!! This is by far the stupidest thing we have to do and are forced to do. Besides being dressed like a Baffoon in a room full of 35 year olds acting like they are in a frat party is plain humiliating!
 






Viva Las Vegas!! in all seriousness, it was immature and unprofessional. Many did make it a personal competition spending serious $$. I didn’t see anyone from SLT roaming the room or with a costume.
 






Absolutely has to stop as does the keeping us for 2 worthless hours on Friday and forcing many to not get home until late Friday. Let us chose a red eye or early morning flight out if you’re keeping us until 5 Thursday.
 






Oh my gosh, I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. I was forced to spend $75 on costume that I was uncomfortable wearing. I had to stay over (and not see any of Las Vegas nor the light of day) and miss my daughter's quinceanera for this? To say I was upset after literally nothing to talk about on Friday and then traveling all night, is a gross overstatement.
You want to talk about culture? I have to sit there and treat George like a God, who's personal net worth is close to two billion dollars yet we can't get a great bonus check every once in a while) where everyone practically bowed to his knees? The company is doing so well yet we all get bonuses that seriously are in the range of average to lower than competing biotech companies???

Totally agree!!!! We all need to make this a statement on our next GLINT survey. No way this meeting should have been 4 days and then only reason we stayed over was for the costume party on Thursday night and 2hrs on Friday that could be covered on a team call. Not everyone loves to be away from their family to attend these meetings. The only thing I agree with Sanofi on is that they do less calls and live meetings than we do. Didn’t Covid teach us that we can operate virtually and we did just fine for 2+ years.

Yes, yes and YES!!! And our raises are going to be a joke too. Only the special "chosen" ones get a decent raise. 3.5% and below is an insult! This place makes me @%^$&#.
 
























This started back in the days of Bob T., I don't do costumes, I have no problem with people that do, but I don't. My solution was to wear regular clothing and get either a funny hat or pair of glasses but I didn't put on until I got to the room and took them off when people started getting drunk and then I got the hell out of there at the first possible moment.

This has become an HR issue. Why should I be forced to wear a costume??? I agree with the poster. I had to stay an extra night for this? It is truly an insult to make everyone participate. I am no longer spending my own money on this foolish idea.
 






Less is more. That means less live meetings each year —we’ve had Jan, march, upcoming in June, and sept, with a potential regionally one in dec. save the cost on half of those and put into monthly growth contest for the field. Nothing is important if we constantly have another important meeting where we are still working to implement the meeting that happened 2 months prior. Listen to the field…less is more.
 












Sr Leaders please listen to the field. We do not want to have custome parties. It’s ridiculous and nobody that I know in my district wants to do these but feel so much pressure. Please don’t make us do this silly stupid nonsense again!

There is absolutely no reason why we should be held hostage in Vegas until late afternoon EST just for a regional breakout. Let us travel home at our leisure on Friday. Show some respect to your employees and stop the unnecessary bulls*%# portions of these meetings. We’ll actually respect those of you in senior leadership more if you tighten up the agenda!
