Ok, so what happens now?

Perry and FO will lead us to victory in NY !

Well at least this KK butt-sucking- monkey is at last exposed as a total fool (should anyone have doubted). The fat lady is singing for the NBU- they will sell it, spin it but if they can't, then they have to make it much leaner. Any way one looks at it the sales force is toast. Actions speak louder than liar's words.

They will make it much leaner to make the purchase more attractive. From here on in, its about balancing the budget sheet to look profitable. That means less reps, less resources, less lunch money and unrealistic goals and CPA requirements.

You'll see.

Who actually believes the decision to hire contract reps was actually to increase our breadth? What a load of bullshit. If they had wanted to increase our breadth they wouldn't have saddled us with selling Xiidra with unrealistic call expectations.
In 2016 revenues in the NBU dipped 16% and now they want to hire an obscene number of contract reps to sell Vyvanse to a bunch of HCPs that haven't written jack for amphetamines in all the time they've been available? Give me a break. Vyvanse doesn't need the same size salesforce it required 5-10 years ago. It's a cash cow, there is less and less return on our efforts. And Mydayis....such a niche market if this summer has been any indicator. Shire doesn't need a permanent sales force to sell drugs that sell themselves on the streets.
If they can ax people overnight in the OBU, what will stop them from doing the same here.

Stay positive! That's exactly what they want you to do.

TRUTH!

Reps can be given their walking papers at ANY time and if they do it in waves even more so.

They WANT us to delude ourselves and self soothe with thoughts of old Shire but those days are long gone.

I personally am excited for this meeting just to see with my own eyes the BS they are going to throw at us! How can Perry even show up to this??? His speech was weeks ago and here we are! What a jackass!

Agreed , we are done , While I am figuring out what to do next-- watching these fuckers try to spin this will be an entertaining diversion/- if that slime PS actually makes it to the stage in NYC then he is mire delusional than we thought or actually does have a pair

Good luck to everyone -do what you need to do for yourself

We are on the Titanic

Back to the original question please. If FO does spin us off, what is the likelihood that Shire would run the new company?

Why would Shire run a divested division? Why get rid of a division only to turn around and manage that same division? When whatever happens happens we are gone. sold to new company, equals layoffs, divested into new company(which makes zero sense) equals layoffs. The future in the NBU is not bright at the moment. Our only chance is if the board replaces the senior leadership within the next few months, unless the board is behind the shit canning of the NBU.

Now get out there and push those patient enrollments.

Shire needs cash to pay off debt. So even if they could IPO - hardly certain - to monetize the spin they'd need to sell it off completely, get as much cash as possible and reduce expenses as much as possible (translate - reduce headcount). There is also not enough long-term value in the NBU to divide up the upside. Bottom line is the stock price is going down because Wall Street sees that FO has failed and is desperate. He had a widely mocked interview in the Financial Times whining about the stock price and how unappreciated Shire is. Everyone can smell the flop sweat.

Stay Positive, my Shire peeps! We can only control what we personally do. So got out and keep SELLING!!

What a moronic comment. Stock has tanked and an entire division is on the block. Anyone who is an adult and experienced would be worried. The fact is that leadership has shown they don't care about morale and as a matter of hard fact we have absolutely no control over our fates if NBU is sold. Post your dribble somewhere else.

Whomever is posting the BS must clearly be working for management. It's common knowledge that sales force reduction is one of the first ways to cut costs in any sort of sale or spin-off. It will be a hoot to see the numbers in the next quarter for NBU as we are all out looking for work.

I for one love seeing the inept leadership panic. And it's relaxing now that we don't have to care - it's clear we are going to be sold- keep your head low, enjoy your hobbies, and wait to see what happens.

Quit being so negative - - - as a thinking human being, we do have CONTROL of our fate!!!

The unknown is what is unsettling

What we do know is Shire is in trouble and needs big money from somewhere- since they have not been able to make the money in sales, have spent an absurd amount buying up other companies, the only thing they can do now is sell a big asset like the NBU.

We could end up jobless in 6 weeks or jobless in 6 months depending on who buys us and when.

We could end up working for a better company like Allergan, who decides they need neuroscience reps

The likelihood that someone buys us and keeps us all is possible but not likely considering the way these assholes have bloated the sales force and created an adult and Ped division
The RD's are an extremely oversized group, managing 6-9 people is a waste. They are very disposable. There is always uncertainty is our industry but the stupidity of PS, MR and maybe KC (he really is to stupid to be fully blamed for anything) has put us all in a very bad place.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst is all we can do.

Part of my hope is that when this is all over, I will be working for an organization that has inspiring leadership

Don't get too excited about Allergan being a better company!! IT'S NOT.
