Nepotism destroying NBU

Just read this entire thread. Mark is really not that bad of a guy. He is a a little too confident strutting around the office but overall a decent guy. I honestly believe he could have obtained a position at the same level without help from his dad. Would not have happened so quickly and taken more of a proven track record but it could have happened. For those of you in the silly little sales force who think other wise proves why you don't have the talent or IQ to be anywhere except sales

Seriously, go F%$K yourself! Not all people want to be in that position, some people do not want to deal day in day out with upper mgmt and drink the "kool aid". Some people like the flexibility of being out in the field and not speandimg the day on one conference call after another. But the fact that you state "silly little sales force" and make a statement that "WE" may not have the "talent or IQ to be anywhere except sales" is a perfect example of why mgmt do not have a clue of what they are saying and very good at putting themselves on pedestals like they are better than anyone. If I knew who you were I would put my fist through you smug little face.

You would hit a 125 lb female? Your mom would be proud of the man she raised. You sound like a Trump supporter.

Is it true Mark was the one that came up with the idea for adult and pediatric territories??? It does make sense now that a guy never in sales would make such a terrible decision. He knew nothing regarding the importance of relationships and that bigger territories and more driving demotivates a sales force... That decision alone should get him fired and make his dad take out the belt to teach his baby boy a lesson

Mark stop derailing the thread as if anyone cares about petty crap when fact is, you are a walking talking example of why it's wrong for rich daddies to push their fraud kids forward to fill decision making positions.

Agreed. Decisions to potentially alter the company drastically do not happen overnight. FO's comment about the NBU in the earnings report should not have been a surprise to the leadership team as this would have be discussed for 8-12 months prior to the announcement. During this period they broke the sales teams into Ped and adult, based on what?!?! Anyone with a semblance of business common sense would have seen this as a disaster. The adult market has been growing the Ped market has been declining, precisely what we see in the numbers. You consolidated territories or changed them completely to achieve flat sales. The previous 2 years saw vyvanse have double digit growth and now because of one bad move after another it's flat. Wow, big surprise. You changed the territories, added an eye product and now I guess are taking it away, we soft launched a me too product and now are officially launching a potential $200 million product that you believe is going to be a billion dollar blockbuster based on the terrible market forecasts. So yeah, true leadership involves not only doing what's best for the company but also what's best for the people who make up the company. True leadership would have said we are absolutely not bringing in a contract sales force because of so many reasons previously written about on this site, but it also means most importantly saying no to people above you and fighting for the future of the business unit that has kept the lights on in Shire for the past 20 years.

Very well stated and very accurate as well... kind of interesting that the NBU provided Flem the money to make all of his terrible purchases which ruined the company and now he wants to get rid of us??? A nice thanks by our CEO. He should be ashamed of himself for so many reasons. The latest...He makes $25 million annually and offers $50 thousand of Shires money for hurricane relief. You are a disgrace you European socialist... always want to help but with other people's money

I like what you said

FOs McKinsey "advisors" no doubt told him orphan drugs were the place to be, and FO has a very simplistic and uninspired world view. So he was thinking that the company would get better multiples on the stock if FO said "ve are a biotech, " and we would fool people into thinking we are innovative by changing our address to Cambridge and selling off the largest business we have. The problem is neither the employees or the analysts were fooled, and nobody has any confidence the leadership can salvage Shire. The good news is that my manger seems to be looking for a job so I am pretty relaxed these days.

The poor baxalta people must be so pissed. Can you imagine working for a real company that knows their markets then being bought by this crap hole? Think of the nightmare these "leaders" have caused to us but they came here. reps who sell in rare disease, oncology , immunology etc are not micromanaged or treated this way at other companies. They will lose everyone then phlegm won't have much of a rare disease sales force to speak of. Can the shire toilet flush already and get these inept idiots out of here.

Spot on. The splitting into ped reps is the first step to downsizing the sales force and with phlegms announcement of the future of NBU it's clear these reps more than likely will get cut at some point in near future. You can look around and see a clear distinction between the 2 teams in terms of manager favorites or higher performers are typically adult reps now. Everyone needs To be looking for jobs daily instead of launching this me too garbage product, especially true if you are a ped Rep. The writing is on the wall in black permanent marker. Don't be a victim or let tools like FO PS MR and KC decide your fate . The NBU train is rapidly approaching its end

Mark Rus will lead us to greatness. FO is pleased.
I would be troubled if FO was pleased with me. He has not made 1 good decision the last 2 and 1/2 years... the board now asks FO which companies he is considering to buy and to give the company a buy or pass... Whatever his response they do the opposite. You would think of his last 5 acquisitions 1 would work out and wall street could say he got a good deal but nope. All awful buys at an awful price and it is ALL FO fault and the YES men and women he hired to surround him.

I'm pretty sure they already know it but let's print off these threads and mail it to the wives of our leaders in their holiday cards so they can see what kind of leaders they really are. Yes they bring home a nice paycheck but it is not earned as they are the worst of the worst at what they do.
