Maybe you are not aware, but these days it is trendy for millennials to live far below their means so they can accelerate retirement savings and retire years earlier than baby boomers! There are tons of FIRE blogs that we read that tell us how to do this. Many of us have side incomes too, so we are not dependent on our primary jobs for survival. So we have lots of choices and options.

Please see the post above on how most of us are working towards FIRE, which stands for Financial Independence Retire Early.
Worst that can happen would be to set early retirement back by a year or so.

Please make sure those quotas are unobtainable like the ones we are being given. Vyvanse was flat for the first time ever last quarter. It's not ideal, but with two new products coming to market every year, more and more people moving to high deductible plans, worsening coverage both commercially and for medicaid, holding it flat is no damn walk in the park either.

As a previous poster mentioned, many of us are on a FIRE track, which is very on trend today, and in our language FIRE means Financial Independence and Retired Early. In my city, we even have a networking group that meets regularly to discuss how to save much more than most people so you are less dependent on your job and will be able to retire earlier than most people in your age group. Some drug reps are members of this group. And even if you look on FIRE message boards you will find postings from people in pharma making smart choice.

I wonder if the person who posted this has financial problems?
 






Yo i am a gay white male and I too shut my mouth, do what I am told because I work close to home. The know I will never make it up the corporate ladder here, I tried going to HR for discrimination, but t have been in the hot seat since.
 






I love it when you think salespeople are dumb about their finances. Granted there are some who may be carrying high debts and will be f*cked if layoff occurs; however, MANY of us Shire reps are SMARTER than you give us credit!! We will stay to the Absolute end, just to see management BURN!!! And we will not be taking the first offer we get bc we have learned to become "NIMBLE" just like you low-life fear-based leaders have done with us!!! Phlegm, PS, KK and the band of gypsies have been planning this for several months now! Why do you think some of the higher up leaders like Vickers, Gregory, & Cassanova left early in the year? They knew what was coming!
 






Phlegm, PS, KK can you please just fire us now and get it over with. This suspense is torture, and we are scared and pondering our bleak future. Phlegmingo Pharma is beating the shit out of me.

Relax, the firings will happen soon enough. Just take this time to make your plans and collect your check while it lasts. Get all your medical done and ride it out until you find a better option. Drink the free booze at the meeting and network with your fellow reps. Laugh to yourself when upper management asks you how you are enjoying the meeting. Watch them all sweat it out on stage because they all know that we won't be fooled this time and most of us hate them.

Just don't believe them when they allude to the safety of our jobs. Don't be the last one to notice what these monsters are doing.

Sure there are some a-holes in sales like any where, but most of the people bust their tails for this company. And you laugh?

You most likely don't have a backbone and basically blow your DM to make your mortgage payement you loser.
 


















I wont stand.... i was the only one who didnt stand at the last meeting. Even those that say they wont stand will feel the pressure and see the looks and end up standing. I wont. It takes backbone and a lot of people pretend to have it on an anonymous board but lack it in the real world...
 
























Last year I clapped and gave my famous repeated whistle and others got fired up and applause got deafening. RO will feel appreciated and think twice about our future here .Kissng ass here has ensured my job security and keeps me off the radar.
