This same question has been asked multiple times in multiple ways about the company and our "leadership". The response is always the same (queue the crickets)List 3-5 Business(not your opinion snowflake) strengths Shire has:
We're waiting...
Agreed! Not to mention the meetings will have coming up will be more corporate bullshit. Targeting, details, numbers etc all of which WE DON'T NEED! I feel like what we need is to blow off steam, come together as a group, team-building etc. Morale isn't going to get better until you fix the $ and the MC!A few months ago Perry had a conference call with the OBU because his management team explained to him that our flat sales came from low morale and disappointment in unattainable goals. It was a rah-rah from the top. Promises of sales contests every month, attainable goals, a true-up on or previous quarter in recognition of their failure to assess where our sales would be. He promised quick payouts. Oh, an no conference calls allowed.
It all sounded good. There were a lot of reps leaving and others interviewing to get out of this OBU due to the drastic turn around in one short year.
Perry's conference call was nothing more than fake news. Lie to us about money and morale sinks even lower. The true-up seems to be a joke. Two months later we still have nothing. He forgot about those contests he promised. That's money from my pocket and yours. I came here for the money. Lots of broken promises that are resulting in a true struggle to get out the door each day. Why go?
That no conference call promise was stupid. We are more isolated. More unhappy, less motivated, and more likely than ever to leave. Or be lazy in our calls.
The complete lack of leadership is astounding. The lies from Perry are unacceptable.
There are entire teams which sole jobs are to evaluate calls entered/metrics/samples left and report the numbers up. Not one of them has ever been in sales. Not one of them knows that all this is no more than an excercise in busy work.
With a biologic, the amount of calls DOES NOT equal the amount of Rx's written. The amount of times you open your iPad DOES NOT mean more scripts. This is the major difference between a real bio-tec (not shire who bullied and bought their way into it). The only way this ever becomes anything like a biotec is to get rid of Perry and replace him with someone who actually knows how to be a successful biotec.
Is that why the results of the engagement survey say the opposite. Why they say that everyone hates it here, that pretty much every measure got below average?Dear Team,
While on the beach I came up with a terrific acronym that really represents what we need to be successful in 2.0 style. M.O.R.A.L.E.
Mr.

We are watching you dysfunctional slackers and reporting the horrendous result data of total TRxs and new NRx.
More heads will roll as we are seeing a pattern of incompetence from sales force. Damn, i love this job !

i feel terrible for the baxalta reps. I can't imagine coming from a respected company to this BS. They run this place like old school pharma with call averages and targeting sheets and micromanage the reps all the way up to PErrys level. Even neuro used to be treated like adults.
Do you pay any attention? Maybe offer your advice up the chain for a change.Stay positive and happy. Work hard and don't give up hope. Be open to criticism and keep learning. Surround yourself with happy, warm and genuine people. Shire is still a great company!
