Sucks that the plant is shutting down. Not good for anyone in the pharma/biotech arena locally because there aren't enough companies with jobs to absorb these folks.
How did those people screw everyone? Are you talking about the delays and mismanagement?
How much money was dumped into that facility to retrofit it, only to walk away?
The schedule was a wreck from day 1. Overly optimistic and did not account for the sheer amount of work to be done. The site has a PMO but they hired people who weren't fit for a project of this magnitude. Also AZ invested in the Longmont facility without a good clear plan and need for it.
Management screwed everyone by causing so many delays: the plant was burning through 500k a day, while never enforcing time lines on automation. FMC could make Durva and everyone knew it. The ex BOULDER Amgen managers sat around patting each other on the back like the corrupt morons they area. The schedule fell more and more behind while no one at BOULDER Amgen did anything. AZ finally had enough. Boulder Amgen = that's what happened.
