Hurricane relief

When I read the memo I though it was a typo. But no it was not. 50k with a match up to 50k? Does Flemming think this is funny? I mean the company can take a deduction on it. Does he realize just how much money and supplies Baxter (which became Baxalta) used to give when disasters happened around the world? How much the company matched when employees gave? Does he realize just how bad it makes Shire look and the tone it sets? 50k! Seriously? If money is so tight that the company can only come up with 50k with a 50k match--how about we ground the company plane for a bit. All in costs for a medium size jet runs about 10-12k an hour including depreciation, fuel and pilot.

compare that to what he got last year in other benefits...Shire 2016 annual report:
"
In addition, the 2016 gure for Dr. Ornskov includes costs of $521,464 associated with the relocation of Dr. Ornskov’s family to join him in Boston following his permanent move to the U.S. in his capacity as CEO. The amount includes the grossed-up cost of tax paid by the Company on behalf of the CEO.
