Fudging the numbers in the NBU

Dear Perry,
Please explain how the NBU went from 97.2% of plan last week to 99.2% of plan this week with a drop of almost 800 scripts week over week?!? It looks as though someone is falsifying the data to make the NBU look like we are doing better than we really are. Hmmmm, I wonder why? Are you trying to make us look more attractive to buyers?

Now I get why we didn't get the data until Monday! I hope you sleep well at night. Just remember, karma is a bitch.

Same in OBU. Tracking 40% to goal. Tell board and investors we are crushing it with 20% market share. Then fire people the next day who have 20% market share. I don't get how they are able to lie to wall st without conscience. Id be terrified to even think about it.

When I casually asked a higher up about this they told me there's an external and internal number.

This is true. Tracking a sales number is usually by way of "units" where externally they track forecast on a dollar volume of sales. This way, when they take a price increase it accelerates the attainment number. Wall St only cares about generating dollar sales.

That being said, PS is no stranger to fudging numbers. He's done it all the time with your goals, CPA and anything else he wants to tell a story about. The guy is dishonest to the core and would never be able to survive outside of FO's world. Next time he presents his "factual data" call him on it. You'll hear the stammering or will likely see him blow his cool as he's done before.

Wall Street is well aware of the difference between revenues generated by market share versus price increase. They may not care, though now there is much more sensitivity around pricing and a serious question whether a pure orphan strategy makes sense anymore. While our Board and leaders have succeeded in being "slow followers" maybe they need to act decisively and get new consultants to tell them what to do now.
