Corona Virus- National Meetings

As meetings get cancelled and travel restrictions increasing, it is becoming evident there could be an impact to the National Sales Meeting in the US next month.

International travelers frequent these large domestic hotels and still use the planes. Large groups in confined spaces poses a real threat even in the US.

Sweet Jesus, I hope the NSM gets cancelled. What a waste of time.

No question the National Sales meeting will be cancelled and/or postponed. Extremely risky to put people in harms way and doesn't look good for JNJ to do such a thing in the court of public opinion.

Also, any thought of pivoting this to a regional meeting is equally a bad idea. JnJ should take this opportunity to look at new ways of doing things. This sales meeting could happen electronically, saving a lot of money and time. It would easily be effective. Sales force would get all the information needed. Meetings in person are kind of dumb in the year 2020 anyway

But how else can we spent time together doing those sweet, sweet sales role plays?

but we need to spend 10 hours on wound closure and biosurgery. I mean don’t forget Nef thinks it’s going to save the franchise! So it must be true

Will there be whiteboards and time to waste listening to other reps BS?

can we skip the sales part and learn more about product and procedure? The way you say something has zero relevance to me and my territory

Lots of companies are cancelling meetings. Notice the grocery stores lately? I went today and I thought they were moving stuff but things were just sold out. Talks of a possible quarantine is why people are stocking up.

Jnj would have serious lawsuits on their hands. This meeting is cancelled

United states now has 100 cases and 6 deaths. Updated in the last hour. The director general for WHO has warned that the virus has brought the world into "uncharted territory."

If JNJ proceeds with this meeting they are doing so knowing the full scope and risks to their employees and families. Incubation period is about 14 days. Gross negligence is at stake. There wont be a defense for a huge healthcare company to claim ignorance.

In 3 weeks this thing could grow exponentially. The fact that we don't have international travelers means nothing. Its here now already and worldwide. Who knows who could have it on your plane in tight spaces. Airports are the dirtiest places on earth. Cant wait to see the ruthless attorneys destroy JNJ if someone gets infected or dies. The Credo should be the guiding light in this situation. Its an easy decision to do whats right but will greed get in the way?

It’s also extremely negligent to the patient. We are flying in an entire sales force that encompasses nearly every hospital in country, putting them in a room for 3 days, and then re-disperse them to the hospitals.

Fuck, the government should interfere ...

Cnn just said cases are up to 126 in the US with 9 dead. Dr Sanjay Gupta believes its more widespread than that because testing kits have not been available. Within the next week and a half these kits will begin reaching the hospitals finally.

People need to be real careful. They also say healthcare workers are most at risk. Yeah, I would have to agree this meeting is definitely postponed lol. Some of my friends in the oil and gas industry have cancelled all travel thru April. I know other industries are following suit. Most are not traveling.

Friend of mine that work the gulf coast area told me yesterday that one of his hospital systems is asking vendors and employees about travel plans. Apparently, they are restricting employees. Not sure what they are doing with vendors. Seems like they may be documenting responses from the vendor?

Apparently, this hospital system is already restricting their employees from traveling. They are asking vendors too. Not sure if they are documenting repsonses or what?
