I have been interviewing for a position at Polymedco even after reading all of the negative comments as I tried to make up my own mind without being negatively influenced. During my interview process, I was told and promised many things including the fact that the company direction was changing. Unfortunately, after speaking with current and former employees, I found out that what Polymedco is going through right now in terms of change is something they go through on almost a yearly basis. The owners seem to change their mind on how to approach the businesss on a regular basis and the reps seem to be the ones who take the brunt of the responsibility for bad management decisions. Even the current employees seemed to have to force themselves to be upbeat about the future. I felt like they were telling me one thing while they were really wanting to say, stay away? I have never been in such a strange situation. I also reviewed the past quotas, how they were developed and how well they were achieved. What I cam to understand was that the quotas are not based on previous sales (like most quotas are) but were based on what the owner felt were realistic and would justify the position. Not one person I spoke with could give me a confident answer on how achievable these quotas were and one Manager even stated that his personal Quota was 100% un-achievable.
I am only writing this today as a summary of my experience through this process and I am happy to report that I have taken myself out of consideration for any position at Polymedco. I don't know first hand if the reports on cafepharma about Polymedco are true but from what I saw and heard, it is very likely and at the very least, the company seems to be in very bad shape. If your products are so good and you offer great compensation, why are there only a handful of reps and why isn't there anyone who can give a positive report about the company?
P.S. I was also made aware that the company is about to be sold and that there will soon be significant competition against their automated system. Further cause for concern?
Good Luck!!
