Purdue, billionaire founders win temporary reprieve from lawsuits in hopes of reaching deal

Purdue Pharma has an offer on the table to settle thousands of opioid lawsuits in one sweeping deal valued at up to $12 billion. To reach the settlement, Purdue hoped to override some vocal plaintiffs and nab a litigation stay during its restructuring. Turns out, the judge agreed with Purdue.
