You can 3-D-print almost anything, from plant pots to furniture, and there are even several labs that are able to 3-D-print organ structures that could be used for transplants. But some organs are more difficult to create than others. One of the big challenges has been that many of our organs are interlaced with intricate networks of blood vessels that are essential for the organ to function. Printing these vessels is difficult, but researchers from Rice University have now found a way to do this - with help from a design studio.
