Why work here?

Just curious, why in the world would anyone want to work for this second-rate, poor excuse for a company?? Please note, the operative word is "want" to, not have to. I understand the pharma industry is downsizing many people and people have to support themselves and families.
    But to come here voluntarily????

I interviewed with these ass-clowns two years ago, and walked out of the interview after 5 minutes, laughing at them and kicking myself for being so stupid to waste my time.
    Thanks.

It is true that only a perpetual loser would attempt to drag others down on purpose. I hate calling names, but, yes, you seem to be very much the loser.

    Why work here?

    1. Colleagues are highly competent. Lots of highly competent people at all levels have been displaced for no particular reason as a result of downsizing in the industry. Publicis has their pick of the best. Hiring managers at every level make good decisions for the right reasons. The result is cohesion among talented people who love the industry. They form strong teams.

    2. Support is second-to-none. The internal structure of Publicis is extraordinary, from leadership in all functional areas to the individuals who get the job done. Many have been with the company for many years, some are more recent hires with lots of talent. One would be hard pressed to find a better sales support structure, from HR to recruiting to compliance, or even IT, than Publicis.

    3. Senior management is world class. They are smart, flexible, nimble, forward thinking and uncommonly committed to their people. After more than a decade with the company, I could list dozens (probably more) of examples of Publicis doing the right thing. I have offered constructive criticism about what I perceived as "wrong" decisions. There have been a couple. Guess what? They didn't even fire me for expressing my professional opinion in a constructive way. Go figure.

    4. The network is huge! How many previous Publicis employees have received support from current or previous Publicis managers for their future careers aspirations? I lost track of the number long ago, because people who have done well for me while working here get lots of support from me, forever. Funny thing is, I get the same thing from those I worked for in the past. Publicis is not just a company, it is a network of very successful people who share a common bond. That alone is a good reason to work for this company.

    5. When the Good Lord, or fate, or whatever you want to call it deals you a serious blow, guess who will be there to support you? The people of Publicis Touchpoint Solutions. It is almost unreal. We all know the law, and what is required. They do, too. Rather than doing just what the law requires, these people do what they believe is right. Again, I have seen it many times.

I don't know what the troll mindset is. I never saw the value. To me, it seems like waste of time. I do check this site when I am making decisions, though. As I am sure some of you are doing. Knowledge is power, and any source of information is a data point. Whether it is relevant to you or not.

I am glad I worked here.

Happy to read above feedback about reasons to work here.

I'm aware that every contract's salaries, bonuses differ.

Other than that, please share more details on benefits, phone/internet reimbursement, vacation. Is anything negotiable (assuming not, but like to clarify from long-timers.)
If/when a contract ends early, are you eligible to apply for unemployment? Are you paid for that week only or is it a usual practice to receive an additional 2-weeks pay? Lastly, I'm noticing a difference in car allowances. Is $600 the "usual" amount? 19 cents mile?

I am a very experienced pharma rep, tired of direct hire positions and lay-offs and would appreciate working with other like-minded individuals.

Good experience seems to be the feedback from most...but be prepared for salary shock if you were a well paid direct employee. Some can handle their bills on the income, some cannot. Much depends on what part of the country you reside and your family situation.

These things end without notice, then you have nothing. rehire is not always the option even with good marks from the manager. I know people who have waited a long time, one relocated and still no job. As long as the manager is decent its ok as a second income. Its a job and some money, not really a career especially if you're a rep.

This company and opportunity are in thee way of socialism. It is a job, but income is the same despite performance.

True you can be a hack or the best, you're paid all the same. They end the jobs for everyone and you're out of work. Fun if your spouse handles the expenses, but if you do its hard knocks.

Let's see, you must be 21 yrs old, or 60. Too young to know any better or too old to be even considered for another real job. I mean no disrespect for either. Pharma screwed a lot of people over the past 10 yrs. this company provides a paycheck, but I find it disgusting how you are all treated like second class people. Management need to have a reality check and realize they are all retreads who got to Publicist for the same reasons.
Your faith is commendable. However, I deal in reality and this ain't it!
    Good luck to you.

I was displaced from a manufacturer years ago and accepted a position with Publicis on an AZ contract. I left at the first opportunity. I was shocked by several things which may very well be standard at contract companies, but disturbed me:
    - lack of data: weekly numbers. That's pretty much all I got. Not even an incentive report for bonuses, they just dumped money in my account (dumped may be too strong of a word, trickled...bonuses were paltry).
    - expectations during simulations. Get it completely right or you're fired. Saw many people stressing out about the certifications and quite a few sent home without a job.
    - targets. Dead docs, retired docs, docs not in territory....and home addresses. Seriously home addresses??????
    - products: 3rd rate products with pathetic coverage. Why are these even being promoted? One had a zero dollar company card but didn't work for gov't programs which the majority of the pt population fell under.
    - expense reports: enjoy your 4 hours doing those. I Know it's kind of the standard everywhere now but at the time it was frustrating.

    The positives were:
    - my manager was realistic and as cool as can be. That's hit or miss though.
    - the people I worked with were good for the most part.
    - it got me over the hump until I landed something else.

God bless you people. It's not an easy gig there.

LoL! Ok...This is not true. They fired someone for diplomatically reporting data inconsistencies and they didn't last long. This is a WARNING for anyone who thinks otherwise.

The reality is I am 40 something and really employed by another real company. Any job is what you make of it, though I agree your manager can help. Mine were all great, and so were my peers. Not retreads, just committed to a job they enjoy. I think mindset plays a huge role in differentiating those who are miserable from those who thrive, to a much greater extent than their employer. FWIW. Good luck to you, too!

No they didn't. If you believe somebody was fired just for "diplomatically reporting data inconsistencies" you're incredibly naive.
