If Applied Medical is such a great place to work like all the cut and paste homers like to say and you can easily make 250k here, Why are there so many open territories? No no territories have been added. Same number as before so why all the open territories???

Great question! Let's see who from the ranks of DG, JD, TS or any of the Zone Directors would care to answer? Oh, and the guys, the answer isn't that the previous reps "weren't a good fit for the Applied culture" or "they'll regret leaving - we have so many that want to come back". Those are the canned bullshit responses we hear.
Let's try the honest answers, if you know how to be honest with us...

Because they lie about compansation! All through the interview process they say we only pay in growth, I can do that. They never bring up negative reconciliation or the fact that you have to reconcile at a higher percentage than you were paid.

For ALL the reasons posted on every single board here. I don't let cafepharma sway my decisions or preempt me. Yes all the company boards have negativity and complaints from a few disgruntled ex or current employees. But after working for AP and finding out for myself firsthand- I have to say that these boards are completely honest feedback regarding the company. And these comments are not done by just a few Applied ex or current employees. It is a lot!! Vast majority feel this way about the company. It is just basically an unprofessional company and they do not compensate you for hard work- that's why there's so many open territories.

What amazes me (ok, not really given that I work for Applied) is that there never has been and probably never will be a response to any of the lies, comp issues or any of the other blatant issues we face from Said, Ted, Dennis, John. Never! They never address anyone of the groups beyond their own self-aggrandizing at a zone meeting; never a conference call with the sales leadership team about the challenges facing the company; never a discussion beyond their own little circle about the revolving door of people leaving the company. Nothing. No other company operates under this illusion of greatness like this company. Some of the Zone Directors recognize it but no one is listening to them either.
Said talks about the merits of the people that work for Applied but he is blind to the facts that his own inner circle only mindlessly parrots what he says. They don't really believe it, which is evident by the countless posts on these boards. Said needs to leave RSM and come see for himself. But that too will never, ever happen.

Covidien was a B company before MDT took it over, applied is down in the C-D level companies like MICROLINE and Conmed. We are a click above working for a shitty distributor.

Funny right before I left as a Procedural Specialist there was a zone meeting. It was acknowledged that our compensation was not even close to where they said it would be. 41 out of 42 at the time were not within $10,000 (for the quarter) of the compensation that we were told. The good news is they were changing the comp plan and they would fix that. When they went through the new compensation I plugged the numbers in for that quarter and the prior quarter to see how much more this new plan would pay. It would make us about $2000-$3000 more max. I thought well maybe that was just my territory. I pulled 5 more random PSS numbers and plugged them in and it was the same. When I brought up that we had a $10,000-$15000 compensation problem and they put a $2000 band aid on it I was pulled aside and told to not be so negative.

I left 3 weeks later for a zone director position for a real company. Lesson learned and I should have listed to everyone who told me.

Low cost selling model. Only focusing on growth regions. Plain and simple business decisions.

I wonder how many more there will be in January after the new comp plan is rolled out?

shouldnt the question be "why does this company suck donkey balls so bad?" We've been hiring more and more children under the age of 25 and no one respects us. We should seriously try increasing sales via mail order catalog and could probably do better.

I don't get why so much negative on Applied. This is a stepping stone company for the young and land of losers for the old. If you don't know that going in then you didn't do your homework. Get over it and find a better company.

LOL. You just answered your own question. Remember boys & girls, Applied is only allowed to have one leader. It's part of that credo garbage they make you recite over & over again for 3 weeks during training. It wouldn't surprise me if he is trying to force his sharia law amongst all of his employees and is filtering money to ISIS.

Alright, that's just stupid and if you work here and really think that, you are an idiot. Keep the comments legit and on track. You make yourself sound dumber than you are.

Arrogant bitching? Acknowledge the truth!!! The only thing that is arrogant is Applied Managements typical response that we should be happy we have a job and that we are in the top 5% of wage earners.
