What would be the best way for sales management to protect their jobs?

    Increase the size of the sales force, pf course!

    True. And tiny, tiny, very small, districts.

    Not just increaseing sales force. Using contract sales force to do this. Hire them: cheap labor. Fire them: no loss, no "layoff" cuz not really gsk employees. keeps image up to stockholders that all is good.
