That is why no one lasts more than 2 years. Think of all the top performing reps that resigned. It took 4 years of off label promotion coupled with over 1000 fake programs to break $100 million. That says it all.
It is a tough disease state to sell in an a hard drug to sell. Its weird though how some areas Texas, NY reps are getting 1000+ scripts a quarter (retail) and then you have other big cities like Chicago with reps there barely getting 200 scripts a quarter.
All these comments are accurate. There are still several reps around on both the NAM and LNAM side still with Avanir form the original hiring group. Their generally great reps and have been in the industry for quite sometime and are hanging in there. However, they are also in areas of the country (mostly) where there are Key Opinion Leaders in their territories or were simply lucky to have a prescriber or two write off label. Some of the best reps hired were in crappy areas of the country or still are. Most of the sales team has turned 2-5 times in the last 4 years. I feel sorry for the Otsuka reps that are already commenting on how disappointing selling Nuedexta is! Good luck.
Looking at the most recent sales data for the NAMs, how the heck does Houston TX, Cleveland OH , NY and LosAngeles get so many scripts week after week. Just crazy how those reps can get so many scripts.
They are able to do it because they developed a great routing along with their reach and frequency coupled with great pre call planning. That is the Avanir way
Seriously, 'what, who and why are the scripts greater in Cleveland, OH?' for example? Cleveland Clinic, one or two Key Opinion Leaders? Or broad awareness approach with adoption across a health system from PCP to specialist?
Ya, their is one doctor there who writes 30-40 a week just by himself, a neuro. He uses for agitation, PBA, Neuropathic pain and other things.
What about these other markets? Is that the pattern or ? ...What's 'working' or could work to raise local patient and prescriber awareness to drive appropriate, broad use at this stage?
This place is a joke. Never seen a company that has you grow each qtr or you are put on a plan, what's up?
A plan.....so what you are saying is that any rep who does not increase growth month over month, quarter over quarter, is put on an improvement plan. Is that company policy? What happens if numbers are maintained for six months? Would you recommend working for this company? Please only sincere posters apply. I know there are lots of frustrated comedians out there, but honest opinion only.
If you have a STRONG psych, neuro or big LTC doc relationships in the territory NOW, ask them if they will RX if you get the gig. Best case you have one that will be a good speaker (pay to play) and you will RX if you pay. If you don't have a ringer then your on a plan and out in 9-12 months. No BS just old school pharma
