The difference is that Trump created a business empire worth billions so some of his arrogance is understandable. Tilton never created one positive thing during his reign of terror at AZ. In fact just the opposite. He demoted or attacked anyone talented enough or with enough credibility to expose his many weaknesses and instead surrounded himself with a circle of incompetent parasites who held on as long as he was in a Senior leadership position and then were promptly shown the door shortly after he was booted out.

Question if Trump really built anything

Tilton was a long nightmare and the one person who probably did more damage to the morale and the destruction of character and ethics in the leadership ranks of AZ. The best thing current leadership has done was forcing him out of the company.

sad that we are rehashing this but it is the perfect example of toxic competitive cultures where people berate and belittle and compete more with internal foes than the external competition. He is now the bitch we all prayed he would become and someday his girls will hate him as much as we all did - karma you fuck

The people at Amgen must have celebrated the way we did when he got the boot from here.
People in Hq actually went out and had a drink or two to celebrate his final demise.

I clearly remember a time, at a meeting, he was berating a female RSD in the lobby of a hotel. A non-AZ gentleman who was staying at the hotel, went right up to them and asked the RSD "IS everything ok here?" ..."Are you sure?" He then turned to Tilton and told him to back off and speak respectfully or to not speak at all. He then turned and left. Horrible the way he treated people.

People like Tilton should never be given a position of power over people. The Sr. Leadership at legacy Zeneca knew this well. Tilton's career was on life support when the merger occurred and somehow he managed to hang around until he found a soul mate in TZ who was equally vicious but liked to keep his hands clean by having his henchmen do his dirty work. Funny thing is that as soon as Tilton could, he assumed the TZ role and used his merry band of toadies to do his dirty work for him. It sounds like Amgen figured him out much faster than AZ.

The lack of quality people as leaders is appalling.

MT has been gone for quite sometime. Who cares anymore about how he treated people....it's old news. Can't you think of something current to post? Bringing up MT and TZ....are you serious? Man Ole Mike must have really screwed you to the wall to bring up this nonsense.

You must be one of his toadies that survived. That means you were so far down the food chain that nobody gave a shit about you remaining here. Let me guess, you are either an A.D. or someone buried deep inside of MAPs. They are like the forgotten garbage in some NYC back alley.

You are a bunch of idiots! Mike Tilton had tremendous success while he was on the payroll. The Tilton years never had crap like Enterprise Years and stocks sinking like the Titanic. The company started going to the pits when the freaking Brits came in and took over. Spittle got up and gave his silly song & dance crap, Hudson gave his goofy presentation, and all the little idiots clapped & smiled. Tilton was the only real person that would get down to the sales rep level and talk to us like human beings. Tilton did in fact carry a bag in the field and moved his way up the chain of command. Also for the record AZ didn't run him off, he left making more money, with a better position, for the #1 Biotech company in the world. Sounds pretty damn good to me! Now tell me where the Brits are, somewhere in BF Egypt? LOSERS. AstraZeneca for a long period of time was successful and wonderful to work for, when they stopped caring about the Bag Carrying Reps everything went down hill. Look at what your current leader did to Roche and my recommendation is you better get the resume polished up, because the days of caring about people are over.

M.A.G.A. (Make AZ Great Again)! I don't know Tilton, but if he's anything like our new president, huge thumbs up

You obviously do not know much about MT. He carried a bag for about 12 months before coming to HQ and he never left until AZ showed him the door. He had zero respect for sales people who he considered too stupid to make it in his world of high level corporate movers and shakers. He made a reputation for being a hard ass and was used by those above him to eliminate anyone that they saw as a threat to their dream jobs. He surrounded himself with loyal henchmen who would do his dirty work for him. Unlike Trump, he never had the guts to confront people to their face. He set the model for the backstabbing and triangulating culture that destroyed a once great AZ sales team.

Fact check the sales and market share in Tiltons day v current leaders. Enough said!

Tilton had absolutely nothing to do with our market share. We were successful in spite of him and would be in a much better situation today if he had been taken out much sooner. It takes a while for the destruction of a company culture and morale to show up in sales returns. If you look at any study measuring impact of poor leadership, Tilton would rank in the top 90 percentile.

I remember those years well. Here was Tilton leadership qualities, virtually no communication to the field force, attendance at meetings to attack, embarrass and demean one or more people in the room, and using his power to threaten and bully anyone who did or had ever disagreed with him. Everyone was kept guessing about what he really wanted when in reality, all he ever really wanted was the next big promotion. He never cared about he well being of the sales force. It was always all about him. In that regard, he is similar to Trump.
