We in the pharma industry should be totally ashamed of the offensive ads our S&M departments are producing today. Just last week an op-ed letter in a major city newspaper blasted "top offensive ads" which ruin our viewing pleasures. Listed in authors order: A- Ambulance chasers (lawyers) B- An HVAC ad featuring some idiot sniffing anothers armpit. Then our industries ads came in 3rd and 4th. Should'nt we try for #1 & 2? C-"An ad for Cialis, Viagra, Depends, or catheters that airs during dinner hour". D- "A male "enhancement" drug ad that airs any time day or night". Makes us proud of our industry , right? How much lower can we sink? Probably much lower considering the lack of ethics and decency our sales and marketing employees we have currently.
What's your hardon for Cialis & Viagra based on? Everyone on this planet has either had sex or is here because of it. Good healthy sex is just good healthy sex. Nothing at all to be ashamed of. What's unhealthy is families watching TV during dinner instead of talking to each other.
PERFECT response....the OP is trying to start something. This is a duplicate of some lame thread on The Darkened Sample Closet. Besides, those Cialis and Viagra ads are not on during dinner hour. And kids shouldn't be watching TV after 8 o'clock anyway.
We know who this person is too. When I grew up we had dinner together as a family - no TV. We also had bed times. Anyone up past the times these products are advertised has already heard this stuff in school. If they notice - it's a good time for responsible parents to sit down with them and talk about the subject.

I hate "stupid white guy" ads, where the white male, employed, head of household, is viewed and portrayed, as a brainless buffoon, even by his Children.
We record a lot then when we watch, we just speed through the commercials. Today though, I did see some ads. 2 Pharma ads, one for Cialis that didn't depict sex as anything other than something loving and sweet. Then there was one for a new toe fungus med. That's probably a good thing to make people (mostly men) aware of. All the rest were fine - Go Daddy (a website builder, a loan company that lends money at an enormously high interest rate, a vapor cigarette ad (probably the most offensive when you really think about what tobacco does to you) and various other unmemorable ads. Thank heavens for recording TV shows.........
I always found Cialis ads corny, and not all that effective, but not offensive. This person has an ax to grind.

I have to say, this Man/Womanis amusing to say the least, but he misses the point totally. Dick Pills sell themselves. DTC is a total waste of Money in this category, and the Commercials (other than the new Viagra chick), have been laughable. Now, if they did a campaighn where they said "seven out of ten male pornstars agree," then they would have something. Could maybe even break into HBO wit Commercials, by doing pornstar testimonials.
