kind of nervous about not promoting a product past Oct 31. I think the WARN period is two months, right?

Yes on the WARN. CV spec gone and Zontivity sent to pasture. Team 3 gone with the loss of cardio meds. Belsomra given to remaining teams as a reminder detail and send samples if needed. Ctl's currently told to hire contract IF they have a vacancy so jumping over to a safehaven is not possible. In a short few months pc will be diabetes only.

This sounds logical. Could also see team 3 picking up Januvia along with Belsomra, so who knows?

T-3 gone. T1 & T2 to promote 6 billion dollar diabetes franchise along with piddly 200 million dollar insomnia drug to customers as a reminder. T1 & T2 already tripping over each other with diabetes so no further help is needed from T3. As the other poster stated, primary care will be diabetes only at the end of the year. Current diabetes reps will be ring fenced so there will be no shuffle. They do not want disruption and training with the product that is keeping this entire company afloat! Bible.

Don't be scared, be prepared. Assuming they cut us Team 3 folks, what's your plan? Will you look for another pharma job? Build your brag book now. Will you stay in sales outside of pharma? Real estate, insurance, securities? Start working on getting licensed now. Will you change careers entirely, and if so, do you need more education for it? If so, work on that now. Will you need to buy a personal car? Save for your down payment now. Don't be a squirrel. Left, right, left, right, left, ri....

You had better be looking for employment. The decision has already been signed off. Many of the managers have been looking for new positions. One positive, less delislinger slugs!

There's no need to be nasty. These HQ people are just trying to give us a heads up. If you don't believe it, that's OK, but don't be mean and hateful. Many of us appreciate the heads up. With patent expiry coming soon, all of this seems very logical, and in line with what Merck has done in the past. People at HQ: Thank you, and please keep us posted on any timeline.

Exactly. A gracious opportunity to read the the tea leaves. If you are not smart enough to realize that, then you can stay here and get canned and it is probably good that you get eliminated from the gene pool. Survival of the smartest and fittest. Happens all the time. Bye.

Friends at HQ: When will we hear something about bag structure? Is the timeline for change happening this summer or at the end of this year? Any info you've heard would be appreciated.

It will be very nice to have all of these useless and unproductive slugs terminated from this fine company. The sooner the better!

Can we also rid some ctl's during the cuts? Too many field visits with reps, customers are getting sick of a duo dropping in.

Read the Sean Williams article in the Motley Fool dated April 19th, 2016. It states Merck has cut 36k jobs since 2010. It goes on to say they plan to cut another 3,800. Now this is company wide but sure sales will be impacted. That will total near 40k jobs in six years, the size of a small city. All whilst Kenneth is taking in so much money a Brinks truck has to make his deposits. All those employees lives ruined, soooo sad. Calls are a comin, probably in May!
