First golfers endorsing for Stryker, now ex football players (Bettis). Attend a seminar on Mako hips and knees, and you are entered to win an autographed football from Jerome. Wait, he doesn't have a joint replacement? Doesn't matter, we have money to spend, and giving away a signed football isn't bribing patients to attend. Shameful to say the least. Now we know why hospitals want to cut pricing, claiming we make too much. What's next...actors without joint replacements posing for pictures with patients after having an open bar function?

Yea Stryker is the first company to use athletes to market their products.

    Go back to selling pharma.

No, not the first to use athletes, but first time I've heard of an athlete without a product from the company promoting for them. And giveaways at the event bring it to a whole other level. Never been in pharma, and probably have sold more than you, unless your manager low balled a contract and got you in there for trauma at 600 bucks a nail. But that isn't selling, as much as you might think it is.

Now I see Stryker is promoting K9's for warriors at Barclays golf tourney. Wow, 3 segments of the population in one shameless promotion...golfers, dog lovers, and people supporting our troops. Guess they didn't leave any stone unturned here. "Come by the booth and buy a hat...so we can tell you it's important to exercise." What a service to the community.

"Tell your doc that when it comes time for your knee replacement, all you want to do is 'get around"'. That is also so important to our country's safety and for animal and golf lovers alike. What's next, NASCAR sponsorship? Damn, Zimmer did that one already?
