What your managers say is just pushing the corporate big shots dellusionally thinking.

These egos will over value the drug. The access you get and will based on what payers view is the value. The market has a way of working these things out. The $5B dollar market is unlikely. It may be still a $2-3B market, but that would be below amgen long term revenue growth and layoffs and major M&A will be in the works. Unlike Kevin Sharer, Bob Bradway is a banker so big deals is what runs through his blood. Within 6 months of the Trump tax repatriation you will see significant industry deal making and contraction. TH intimate knowledge of BMS and the ability to buy them and take reins of his former company is a very attractive option.

The price for Repatha will have to be increased to pay for the DTC TV advertising recently launched.

Could not believe that a highly specific, highly specialized drug, that's a biologic with limited uses/indications and has limited reimbursement/access launched a DTC advertising campaign with television on national network news. Those with high cholesterol will be going to see their doctor asking for Repatha prescriptions - pissing off the docs and then being disillusioned when their insurance will not cover it. $14,000+ a year will be sticker shock!

    Stupid is as stupid does.

I can't believe this could actually happen! I have a buddy in headquarters who said this may happen because we now have outcomes. Headquarters is excited about heart attack and stroke reductions. They feel that we are priced right for a product without data, but now we need to increase the amount. It is not supposed to be a drastic increase but I personally feel we need to consider a drastic reduction in the cost. I am tired of hearing that it is difficult to manufacture and should have a premium price. Please don't make it impossible for us to sell this product at all.

If Amgen cared about patients, they would drop Repatha prices immediately and finally allow access.

  6. Bonuses and $$$ first. Patients only when it's convienent.

Why shouldn't we charge a premium for our innovation? We have shown a major reduction in heart attacks and strokes. This is gonna be HUGE!!!

are you serious? Deserve to charge a premium? The patients deserve access!!! This drug has been overpriced since the start. We could charge $5000 and have much better access. The leaders got greedy. Plain and simple. They just got finished watching the movie Wallstreet and thought Greed is Good. The Payors are not going to roll over and show their bellies. Repatha is going to be pigeon holed for very high risk patients. The absolute risk reductions are very small and do not warrant better coverage. The study even mentioned that there was no difference in hospitalization rates due to chest pain. NOT GOOD!!! Leaders better come down from their perch and smell the situation we are in.
