Not so for PC. With Zetia/Vytorin going off patent in 2017, Merck needs all PC Rep revving up Belsomra revenue, maintaining Januvia revenue & milking the last drops out of Zetia/Vytorian.

In 2017, when Zetia/Vytorin go Generic, Merck will cancel the Neuroscience Contract, realizing they can save even more $ by bumping up the PC Rep's a messily 20k, re-titling the Zetia/Vytorin & Belsomra Reps to Specilist that now call on PCs & the Belsomra Specialist in their local territory which then increases the frequency on which theSpecialist are called. We all know these Docs are detail sensitive & most of the Neuroscience territories are too large for the contract reps to see the Specialist with enough frequency.

Look at the five months as a reprive allowing you to get a new job.
Contract is the way forward for sale force and it is sighed off.

Our District will be one of thirty that will immediately begin transition to contract sales. The attrition will be 50% and all will be given opportunity to interview with no promises given.

Grasstek is another waste of resources from a company with no better alternative.

And if not for the price hikes, it would have been even worse.

Gone are the days of the billion dollar blockbusters. Apparently the R&D well went dry several years ago.
