Over the years, I've watched a once-respected profession become a joke...

I enjoy coming on to CP once in awhile to see if things have gotten any better
for pharma reps, and it appears that they have not...

I feel bad for the newer reps that have to operate as food delivery people, and
get know respect from the window witches in the offices...In popular media, the
pharma rep has become a joke...(and not a funny one at that.)

It is sad what happened at Merck and other big pharma companies. Detail men
(and women) were once respected members of the medical community, and had
a legitimate place in patient care through education.

Now, they play the role of useful idiots, both to their internal management and
external customers...

Would like to hear from those still out there 'repping how they think it got to this
point and became so ridiculous?
