Christianity is based upon faith in evidence. Faith in facts. Science is based upon the search for knowledge through observation, experiment and trying to prove theories.

As far as a boot on a neck, science should always have the boot of religion on it's neck. Of the two, religion has a much, much better track record. The Galileo incident doesn't change that reality.
