You must be too busy to read the news. The law was upheld by the Supreme Court because it was a TAX. Congress has the power to tax so he Supremes chose to review its constitutionlity from that angle rather than the more popular thinking (and obvious) interstate commerce law.

Stay in your bubble of ignorance if you like but the law is still in pace because it was determined to be a TAX.

It's a penalty in the free loaders that falls under the taxing powers of congress. I'm tired of paying for everyone else's irresponsible acts. It's time for these deadbeats to start paying up!

Thanks Obama and Dems for this historic accomplishment!

Repubs really are dillusional. The financial collapse did happen, right on Pres Bush's watch. Obama has spent his first term trying to fix that mess he inherited, and he's done an admirable job. Can't wait till his second term. Obama 2012

Hey pal...wake up and smell the java...your coffee pot is burning.

Time to take a closer look at our...."everybody jump for food-stamps" president.......from every angle he is a big spender and mega debt creator extraordinaire ...other presidents look like cheapo's in comparison....

Oops...Mr O. just had to cut back on one of his many lavish get aways!!!.....the press caught wind of this big, new spending spree.......

Awww... that irresponsibile spending tendency follows you everywhere.......

    Thanks for that link. WTF?!?!

"Starting in 2013, the maximum rate on long-term gains is scheduled to go up to 20% and the maximum rate on dividends is scheduled to increase to 39.6% as the so-called Bush tax cuts expire."

39.6% (more if your income level is higher) on dividends?! The fixed income crowd is in for one hell of a shock when they figure out what's being used to pay for their expanded care!

The old saying couldn't be more true: there is no such thing as a free lunch (or healthcare).

I had to post again - now that I've read the whole article. My GOD! Taxes are going to be outrageous to cover these costs. Oh, I forgot that only matters to those of us who PAY taxes, which are often the same people who already pay for their own healthcare.

Between the fiscal cliff, Obamacare and the sluggish economy those of us who actually have something to lose are f$&@ed.

    Another caveat...

Obama will help Americans keep their weight down..........no one will be able to afford groceries!!!

Hmmm....maybe that's another way he can push the socialist agenda too.......more people on food stamps cause Uncle Sam get more big helping to their paycheck......

    :(

It will affect ~ 1% of population. No problem with me, I'm responsible and have my own insurance and don't freeload off the system.

    too funny! From that webpage;

"We will enact common-sense medical liability reforms to lower costs, rein in junk lawsuits and curb defensive medicine" and will "defund abortions."

So, first the Republicans promise to limit my freedom to sue when I have been injured? And then they propose to have more people on welfare. Great. What a plan.

BTW: there is no such thing as 'common sense.' Everything is a matter of perspective. What you may consider unacceptable may be very important to someone else.
