If you think you will be looked after as pensioner by this co. forget it. You'll get only the minimum especially if you are amongst the current crop of pill pushers. In fact most if not all will never make it to retirement with this Co. They don't want you either. They want your blood, sweat and hard work that often includes illegal stuff as reported here already by someone.

Your pension plan has been streamlined and soon it will be cut to bare bone, so only if you save all your career and survive all the roadblocks they will throw at you, especially once you are not needed as per your age or performance, you may end up with few chicken bones.

What about the current pensioners, how do they survive on their, what was supposed to be very good plan, at the time they retired for whatever reson? They still have some benefits built into that plan, like dental (if you still have teeth). But their incomes have been eroded to, in some cases bare minimum. The company does NOT keep up with reality of inflation and general increases in cost of living (as they do with them and you for their drug prices can easily afford it and support it) for pensioners. The real income for them has dropped by just over 25% sine last adjustment in 1999. That is eleven years ago. Lot has happened since then and yet they don't do anything inspite of huge success in milking the Canadian public health care with their high prices and overpromotion of drugs many illegaly and unethicly for additiona profit. YET NOTHING FOR CANADIAN PENSIONERS.

These are the people who have put this co on the map of Canadian drug market and made the company (two that were merged the envy of the industry.). YET NOTHING FOR CANADIAN PENSIONERS.

However, In Switzerland things are completely different and fine for their pensioners. They adjust their pensions on regular basis. We are not sure if it is on yearly basis but very often. Certainly they don't do it once in decade or maybe in century the way they behave nowdays in Canada. That is a shameful behavior toward the most vulnarable of this Co. Maybe these valuable people at one time, are not considered of any value to this Co and what they did is no longer appreciated. Or they may think what was paid to them while they worked was more than enough in terms of compensation. That is not true. Just like you the current employees the pensioners while "current" were NOT paid their fair share of income they generated for the Co. Why? Simple. They contributed far more by being forced to do not only "legal" work but also lot of illegal and unethical work that brought in huge extra $$$ that were kept by the CO and its movers and shakers. Vasella would be a good example. He has collected well over a billion Swiss Fr. so far (same in $$) and is currently paid 44.000.000,00 SFR/year in base sallary. You can imagine what the others are paid including your new CEO. But not you the reps and your retired colleagues that made it possible for you to be where you are.

So this is your "best Co to work for" and how they treat those who made so many sacrifices of their lifetime with the co. Yes many have give their best years to this Co and yet, NOTHING FOR THEM from the huge thake this Co takes from our taxpayers and our people. Shame on them.

ps: if you know the CEO's email, please email this post to him/her.
