Like everything else at Amgen, the non-retaliation policy is just there to lull you into a false sense of security. When they need a scapegoat they will launch an "investigation," they won't provide you any details or evidence, and you will be gone. When you speak up Amgen will hide behind policies like this and pretend they are worth more than the paper they are written on but they are not.

Where is HR and Compliance on this? Just sitting on the side lines...as usual.

HR (anywhere) exists to reduce liability within their own company. They help negotiate around employee disputes with the goal to reduce company exposure, both in the public eye and financially. They do not work for the individual employee and are focused on minimizing issues, not resolving them. When investigating, they ask thorough and specific questions and expect thorough and specific answers with precise examples/timelines.

I don't believe they can get around the non-retaliation law and probably do a fair job of insuring privacy. They don't really care about weeding out complainers but are mainly focused on checking the box in case of arbitration or litigation. "Yes we investigated that claim and found it to have numerous inconsistencies, blah, blah, blah."

You will not be proactively contacted following separation so if you want to file complaints, don't expect them to call you.

If great reputation don't worry about it at all if not, they know most complaints come from low skill people trying to play games and it can make itworse bc they dive into everything about u and ur skills... my advice if ur great its fine if not look for new job bc it can go downhill very fast

You can falsely accuse anyone of doing or saying anything, resulting in their termination AND be protected from retaliation. What a perfect situation!
