The Bedminster 200+ employees are being eliminated. Shire says they want to be a nimble biotech yet they bought a nimble biotech and cut it up and destroyed it. Less than 5 of the home office employees are being retained.
If you ask to be let go early b/c you found a new job they won't let you go rather they will spitefully assign you meaningless projects and make you stay for months so you hopefully walk away from the severance they owe you rather than lose an opportunity to accept a new job. Terrible leaders lacking integrity.

Ginger Gregory the Head of HR said they would do the right thing and not stand in the way of eliminated employees getting new jobs but she lied. That's exactly what her team is doing. It's the worst company to be acquired by, they could care less about employees and people trying to feed their families and earn an honest living.

Yeah, get in line. These motley fools have been screwing everyone over since they all got here almost two years ago. They're a band of gypsies lining their pockets at the expense of those who built this empire. They should rot in hell.

I can't wait for my end date to put this nightmare behind me. Yup, no severance (carrot) unless you stick it out to the bitter end.

After taxes not worth the wait. Get out, move on, and get on with your new career.

It's a substantial amount and is worth the wait that's why more people haven't left yet.

While you wait....which is exactly what they want you to do, jobs are being filled. Hope your severance will support you for a year to a year and a half.....average time to find another position, or your spouse can do it. Pharma is dying. Every company is systematically eliminating positions.

You NPS folks scammed us... manufacturing problems... patient deaths... no severance for you seems reasonable. WE OVERPAID

Wasn't us that scammed you, it was the millionare's club and they're long gone. We are mere Hobbits left to sweep up. So much for due diligence.

NPS was lucky they found a desperate buyer in Shire. We had no rare disease pipeline to back up the growth plan, and had to get revenue somewhere to support Lexington. Presumably our scientists blessed all of this.

What is supporting Lexington is the millions they saved by wiping out more than half the company with the move to Mass. Now anyone hired comes in at a discount. Text book move by Flem and his band of gypsies.

the move to Lexington had nothing to do with becoming more biotechy, it had to do with wiping out the "old Shire culture" which is why people came to work at Shire and loved the company and would do anything for the company. Now the new hires are cheap and completely inexperienced, but they are loving the opportunities they have been given. They wanted to get rid of the costs and culture and they have been very successful at that. Severance is a one time write-off.
Shire was a great company to work for that hired really great experienced people who knew how to strategize, plan and get the work done in a quality effective way. It cared for it's people and they cared about the company. Every chapter ends and a new one starts...

    Disagree.
Some of the hires coming in have what...15 to 20 plus years industry? This might be the case for the reps but sure isn't for R&D.

Really? Then why is everyone in R&D in CB getting retention bonuses? And oh, why the billboards in Boston. Good spin.

“We’re going on a bit too fast. You and I, Sam, are still stuck in the worst places of the story, and it is all too likely that some will say at this point: ‘Shut the book now, dad; we don’t want to read any more.'”

These Lord of the Rings references has no meaning to the story that is Shire. What is more appropriate is probably The Exorcist or The Shining. Both represent the horror that working here has become and symbolizes the evil that has taken over what was once a noble, successful and decent place.

A day may come when the courage of Shire fails… but it is not THIS day!
