It says that they are going to restructure and that Neuro will be going away. They always start at the top and also not back fill vacancies when they occur naturally.

What's really amazing is that we escaped this last layoff! We are a primary care sales force, and nothing more.

Not really, many of us are calling on very few primary care providers..for now at least?

Yes, and a highly overpaid one. But not for much longer. I always wondered why AZ didn't give you the option of taking a pay cut and still keeping your job. There has to be a good reason because none of Pharma does it. You can leave for another company and take a pay cut though.

Really? Because they would probably rather replace you with us! This team was rated #1 with the customers they interact with..Psychs...No other TA can say that. Proven Results!!

That is a popularity survey taken by a magazine that AZ contributes money to. It is a rating bought and paid for.

Oh my god you beleive those magazine ratings? Every AZ brand team is marketing brand team of the year in MedMag or MktgNews or other low circulation mags paid for by companies. You need to get out before there are 450 of you clamoring for the same roles in your part of the state. If you wait for the package then it will be too late.

Human Resources is always touting that AZ is number one with working mothers. That is also a magazine where the number one ratings line up perfectly with the companies paying the most for advertising.

Why are the neuroscience baselines for q3 coming out so late?

Why is everyone always so jealous of us?

No one is jealous of a force about to be disolved in the next few months

Did anyone bother to read the 1st half results? There is a restructure line that shows about a third of the way to what was communicated for a reduction number (somewhere around $1.5B).

Folks, we still have a long way to go. CNS has to be part of the restructure as well as CV. We hear about core TA's.... In a year, they will be respiratory and oncology. Everything else will be sold off. No, I don't know. Just a hunch. And while I am at it, PC sales force will get another hit when Advair goes generic next year. One rep per territory will be norm w/ heavy focus on the biologic. Again, just my 2 cents

Oh and how can I forget? The chubby blond MAPS person that a few are fixated on will still be around. Wait for it...... BOOM! Their heads just exploded.

Seems to be all coming together. Getting leaner with getting rid of contract reps and a start on reducing sales and marketing expenses with PC. About 1/3 so far of the 1.1 billion dollar reduction in expenses projected. The other 2/3 from eliminating CNS, reducing CV, selling off the diabetes TA, and reducing PC sales forces. Making AZ an attractive buy out target. Focus on oncology which is something a number of companies are wanting including Norvartis. Send PH over to Novartis to help set it up from that side (seriously, ever seen a CEO literally throw a going away party for an exec going to a competitor?) Starting the rumors to drive up stock price. Big money for top execs...but no guarantees for the rest of us. Should be an interesting next 12 months.

There is absolutely NO NEED for neuro. Cant believe they haven't sold Mo. in the U.S. market yet like they have done elsewhere in the world. Pascal needs to merge with Novartis, but his ego won't allow it. He HAS to be top dog! Hope the rumor of a merger kicks up the stock price! Fuck AZ!

Neuro will stay! We now have nexium for babies as well as movantik. B relistor will only increase share of voice and we will hit 1 billion in the U. S.!!
