Low rated rep here, just wanted to say I have one of the top territories on my team and region. I want give exact position so I don't reveal myself, but I'm doing the best that one can do in this tough environment.

I was given a 4-5(read above) by my shitty dm, turns out I do know what the f&)k I'm doing!

    My share grew weekly
    Got my specialists all using
    New docs weekly

I tell you this because I'll never get props for this. How could I? This means my dm was wrong and they won't eat their words.

I won a early year contest, I get praise from my teamates on calls, my matrix partners love me, I got tough docs to write, have specialists going strong, and have SOLD things! What a novel concept?

I say this because I've been reading this forum, I want to tell you that this company is a complete joke. I don't take offense to my rating, I know my worth and my success now speaks for itself. Aside from winning meaningless access metrics, my real sales data aka scripts wins. We share our ratings on our team and the results are very telling of favoritism! My dm is a Terrible person.

To all the reps out there keep your head up! Also look for better companies that can appreciate your talent.

Number 4/5 signing off to sell and not get credit for it.

Sorry to hear that your hard work is not being rewarded. What I have noticed at GSK is that you have to keep reinforcing to your manager what you are doing, positive changes you are making, new opportunities, etc. Most people don't like to sing their own praises and assume that their boss is aware of them. Don't assume this EVER at GSK. Ask your boss for advice and make sure at the next meeting you praise him/her for the advice and th positive effect it had. Make sure at the beginning of each interaction you highlight what you have accomplished since the last meeting. Did your boss provide ANY feedback about why you got such a poor review?

Mostly opinions to be honest. We share ratings and ride along reviews. I've been judged on things others never get judged on per their words.

I do what you say, I think I'm the chosen bottom one. I'll give example, took dm into office where 1. Doc uses breo first line 2. Doc raves about breo and I got a bad field coaching for that office. usually it seems predetermined

they know what they are going to check off before the ride along.....they have messages from their manager on how to approach each rep

Maybe if you were actually working your job instead of posting on CP in the middle of the workday, you might get an acceptable rating.

Screw that just leave. There are SO many better jobs out there. You have no idea. GSK is by far the worst pharma company I ever worked for. Worst bonuses, worst call entering system, and the worst management I've ever seen. Management is completely incompetent.

You can't even understand how bad it is working there until you leave. Trust me, you will be far better off moving elsewhere and getting away from this toxic organization. GSK is truly the worst. Period.

If I couldn't do non work related stuff during the day here I would go get a real grown-up job somewhere else.

    Op here

The sad thing is there isn't a rhyme or reason to why we are ranked the way we are. When I was told by two other reps say they never have or do what I was being dinged for was eye opening.
If you do have enough trusts I encourage you to share ratings and feedback, I will guarantee you will see the truth.

This once was a great company the culture has been so bad as of recent. They pretend that we are wanted assets in offices. It's not easy getting access these days and the hustle isn't appreciated.

Not to give anyone away so I'll be general, but there are reps who have succeeded above and beyond who are scrutinized like no other and treated very unfairly. It's pretty crazy to see how bad this place operates and being passed off like its legitimate. It's very toxic.

Look, across the company, a$$ kissers are always given the best ratings at GSK. Learn from how they work the system and copy them or get out of GSK.

The people ranked at the top are most likely female or diverse or are buddies with the manager. Your performance has virtually nothing to do with your rating. It's so beyond ridiculous. And they wonder why this place is imploding.

GSK is totally lost and leaderless and has no soul. It's just a matter of time before the pharma side gets sold or becomes a rent a rep organization. It's now one of the lower tiered jobs in pharma now.

I had a hiring manager once ask me how I stayed here as long as I did? Like it was considered a joke to be working here. Don't stay too long folks. You'll get stuck.

    Op

    Lets address a few things

Diverse and women, not always the favorable ways you would think. I would caution those to look deeper than gender and race, good reps are good reps.

Suck ups do well, this is the case of being ostentatious to create a the appearance of success. The problem with pharma is we have to appear successful for whatever reason. Busy work looks great to management, but doctors don't care.

The ratings have zero to do with performance is true. This is a tough job that has a easy life style, you're convincing a doctor to change habits. This takes time and a lot of effort, of all sales jobs we really have the least control over what others do. Reps need time to do their jobs.

Gsk management has zero clue as to who they are. Right now they are a patient first hybrid because of legal, red tape because of legal, trying to justify levels of jobs, conflicting priorities, knee jerk reactions, panic, useless metric heavy, a bit removed from reality, discouraging, creating roadblocks to do our job, creating issues with reps who are doing their job, and overall to sum it up trying to micromanage with a purpose where there isn't always one.

Nothing on this Thread looks like my district. The reps with the top sales were ranked at the top. So were managers in my region . Most of the FLL I know did the same thing.

Oh yeah about that. Remember DMs gathered together and helped "ranked" each other's teams? Happened in November/December. That's the best collusion I've ever seen. What other professional organization gets DMs together in the same team to rank ppl? We hear of the bell curve theory but this was obvious.

If you didn't hear about this until now, sorry to break it to you but it happened.

They call it calibration, what a freaking joke! The same two or three ask kissers in our district who have their noses so far up the district managers ass that they no longer know what fresh air smells like, got the top ratings and all the trimmings. And their sales performance was just average within our district, certainly not at the top! So, that being the case, I do not kill myself when I go to work each day, because I remember how I get screwed at ratings time. So, that being the case, I do not kill myself when I go to work each day, because I remember how I get screwed at ratings time. As they say, "what comes around goes around".
