Regretfully I was employed as 1 of the original 4 (outside sales) in Las Vegas, Spring 2012. I surpassed my goals of 120 braces per month, yet was "let go" before commissions were able to be paid because I did not agree with lying to senior citizens and did not agree with my paychecks continually be postponed "another two weeks" while the new hires in other states all get on the same pay period, the new accounting system gets revised and up to date, etc., etc.

I am not a sheep and was told by the man with a baseball bat and bad temper that I have a "bad attitude" for not going along with the company flow like everybody else. Sales manager Dave Nolan likes to beat people in parking lots with baseball bats! Should've taken that job with the Yankees, but God told him this was a better opportunity. Unbelievable crap!

Doing business without a Medicare license, toll free numbers that changed daily, business cards with an E. Flamingo (UPS Store) address for "local presence", appointment setters located in Cebu Philipines who were unfamiliar with the geography of Las Vegas, no credible background checks on employees who frequent the homes of 6 to 8 senior citizens daily, etc., etc.

KMR Medical, Western Medical, US Lifecare, A Plus Benefits, etc., etc. Not sure which company I was working for, lol. But I honestly enjoyed the concept of helping seniors improve their quality of life with the back and knee braces I had a quota to push and the medical alert boxes I would setup in their homes. Unfortunately, the personal info I would gain from these seniors was being used by KMR to take advantage of them in several ways.

One thing I learned quick is that Ben and Jody were fast talking, entrepreneurial and unfortunately deceiving. They had Piper, Dave, Dave, Jeff, etc in their back pocket while others were misled, overworked and underpaid. It was clear from the start that if you weren't Mormon or a sheep who eagerly follows the herd, you were not going to succeed with them.

    Karma!

Are you able to shed any light on KMR's relationship with PrivacyMaxx and the identity theft protection program they are trying to sell to senior citizens?

Yes PrivacyMaxx used to be associated with KMR(westernmedical now) they just parted ways. I don’t think PrivacyMaxx is untrustable- they probably just paid KMR commission for sales at the callecenter Jeff is at currently http://www.lcisolution.com/ -while just like before wit the pendant, their main objective was to open the door to sell braces.

I guess now they offer there own ID protection on KMRs new site??
http://www.westernmedicalgroup.com/ Its funny because Jody and company are exactly the people your Identity should be protected from.

The agents tell people its about ID protection. The catch is-- they only get credit for a sale if the call is transferred to Utah. They ask a few questions then say they going to transfer call to a specialist to check the name and address. The only requirement for transfer is 60 and older. After transfer to Utah there’s a “by the way".... and questions start directing to a brace sale. If there using the same process they have the funds to pay owed commission easily

Thanks for sharing. I think I remember you on a conference call. I was mislead from the very beginning. I was there for about 3+ weeks and once I got the picture that was it. Anyone who takes advantage of our seniors and Medicare will have to pay the man one way or another. Are you telling me that Nolan actually threatened physical violence? Please elaborate? As you can see by another post, KMR is under investigation and there is no doubt that these federal agents will thoroughly and efficiently investigate and eradicate these sleazy people. There are a couple more post below that maybe insinuate that KMR is still trying to unload back braces. Is this true? It seems their pattern is to keep jumping from one phone scam to another. They all need to do some time behind bars in my opinion. One very important part of your post was that these guys, Jody, Jeff, Dave, Piper and the gang didn't do background checks and could have put our seniors at risk for physical abuse and theft. For sure they deserve a year or two in the clinker.

Yep, they are now just Western Medical, still in the same location in American Fork, UT. They still "sell" knee and back supports at "no cost to the customer." And they still have PrivacyMaxx "transfer" calls to them, so they're all "inbound warm leads" (yeah right!). I've heard they also started selling prescription topical creams of some kind for pain, also for diabetes wounds, etc...... all of course at "no cost to the customer." We just all pick up the bill for that, I assume......

I worked for KMR medical for 2 months, I was told to continually lie to customers about when their order was shipped. I was told to not tell anyone that a Call Center was being set up in Nabu, I would get emails from the Employees in Nabu and they would claim to be EMT's, they were not!!! I was also told by Jeff Newman(Owner) to not tell Customers that the new call center was in Nabu and that that is where their emergency calls were routed to. When Customers would call and say that their alert pendant or watch wouldn't work, I would have to tell them to put batteries in, these poor people would turn it on and it would work, ONLY until the battery would wear out. I couldn't take it anymore!! I needed a job BUT I would rather be unemployed than taking part in the dishonest Company. Also,
my paychecks were ALWAYS wrong-short!!! And Utah law states that you should receive your oaycheck within 72 hours, it took over a month.

I am extremely concerned. They are under investigation. Read the prior post by the OIG Special Agent. I am baffled that they are even allowed to operate??? They are still ripping off people. This is sick and sad that it can happen.

What a load of crap.....and so clearly written by one of these ogres in a thinly veiled attempt to salvage thier reputation. A multi million dollar PR campaign could not salvage thier reputation. Did they teach this in th Book of Mormon? It will be my new hobby to see to it these gentleman receive 3 hots and a cot in Federal prison for basing thier entire business plan on col calling/ power blasting the elderly. May sound innocuous, but this phone soliciting strategy alone is punishable by 100,000 and 5 years in federal prison. They won't give poor Dave his Viagra there ..as much as he may want it! Two simple words.. Qui tam

Well Said! Make sure you post the same info. on what is KMR's new name. They are going by Western Medical Group or Western Medical. You can do a search here on Cafepharma and find many of the same posts that on this thread. I am truly baffled however, that it appears these guys can continuously change their business name and pretty much keep their business model which is a travesty to our seniors and medical professionals. I don't get why they can't be shut down immediately and held accountable for their misdeeds. In China these guys would be worm food. Only in America!

Also, do these people have any other skills other than using Philippine call centers, making them lie and pretend they are in Utah while blasting our parents with a continuous flow of bullshit. What a bunch of greedy bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have apparently changed sales tactics a bit. Now they push identity theft protection on the initial call with an 'added benefit' of medical devices. And they want to make sure the target...er...customer is under 64 years old AND has medical insurance through an employer. My guess is that it's the same deal as before, but defrauding private insurers instead of Medicare.

They have, indeed, changed sales tactics. I got the initial call from "Secure ID" about a week ago. Was told I would receive an email and a package in the mail about ID theft. I got nothing but today I get a follow up call, again from Secure ID. In an odd segue, the rep asked me to hold on while she transferred me to Action Medical. The rep from Action Medical makes sure I'm under 65 and that I have private health insurance. Then I get the pitch about how I can get free medical supplies because it's a little-known benefit through my insurance plan. This rep also confirms they're located in American Fork, Utah.

Several months back I got similar calls, only then the lead-in company was PrivacyMaxx and the medical supplier was KMR Medical.

The rep today tells me - several times - I can just throw away the ID theft materials when they come if I'm not interested. I actually got the rep today to admit that they had recently changed names.

I actually have a complete tape recording of today's call and have contacted stephen.smith@oig.hhs.gov and am waiting on a reply.

July 21, 2014 - Kansas AG files suite against Rookstool, George et al:

    http://legalnewsline.com/news/250631-kansas-ag-files-lawsuit-against-medical-alert-device-companies

TOPEKA, Kan. (Legal Newsline) – Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced Friday a lawsuit has been filed against a group of Utah-based medical device companies that allegedly violated the state’s Do Not Call Act.

Schmidt’s office received multiple complaints in 2013 from Kansans who received telemarketing calls saying they could be eligible to receive a free medical alert device. Consumers who were offered the free device were allegedly told they must provide a credit card number to cover shipping or monitoring fees.

“These calls are nothing more than a ruse to get your personal financial information,” Schmidt previously said. “You should never have to pay money to get a ‘free’ product.

“We advise Kansans not to answer these calls, or if they do, be suspicious and do not give out any personal information.”

Medical Pendant Billing LLC, doing business as US Lifecare; Arizona Medical Supply LLC, doing business as Western Medical Supply; KPM Capital LLC; KMR Medical LLC; Jody Rookstool; and Benjamin George allegedly violated state law by calling state consumers registered on the Do Not Call list and attempting to sell them medical alert devices.

Schmidt filed the lawsuit in June in Shawnee County District Court. His office recently served the final defendants with process.

The attorney general’s lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, investigative fees and civil penalties.
