I would like to know if anyone sees the need for a solution to positively identify a patient to their Insulin pen or syringe. I would be very interested in hearing what your facilities current process is and where you see deficiencies as they relate to patient safety. Any feed back is most appreciated. Thank you

Black Sharpie to write their name on it works best for our facility. Not rocket science

Thanks for your feed back and I totally agree with you. It's not rocket science and it's funny you should say that. I have been to several different facilities and seen a different process or lack there of at each one. Some won't use pens at all and will use patient specific vials which leads to an enormous amount of waist. Are you writing the patients name on a label and then applying it to the pen?
